Complaint Against Club Par Excellance

My name is Karimeh el-ash me my husbant got a call from club par excellence who told me and my husband quarantined a free vacation. In order to be able to calumet the prizes I would have to go to their seminar. It was in 3350 American Drive Mississauga, Ontario tel. 905-461-1880 we then attended a video presentation during which a sales representative talked about club par Excellance.

After the presentation we moved to another room and talked about membership opportunity. They asked questions such as how much we usually spend on vacations, what was financial worth, did we have a mortgage and so forth. Essentially out our financial situation. Then the price was presented to us. The first cut was $12,900 we said we couldn't afford it they had four salesmen tried to persuade us into becoming a member. They kept offering cheaper prices every time we turn them down. They demanded a decision on the spot, it was a onetime opportunity so they say, that the entire family can use. The last price they gave us for the membership was at $6857.94, we told them even that we can't afford. They said don't worry we'll give you the finances you need, all you got to do is sign the contract and put a $500 deposit witch you are able to do through credit card. We finally gave in and accepted.

On August 11th, 2007 we signed the contract. After signing the contract we realised that we had to pay $129 every year for Annual Web Access Fee and they didn't even mention it and we were too blind to see it on paper when we were signing it. The promises that they have made that I was suppose to get with my member was from 50-80% off of vacation. Not only on vacations I would get discounts on, on restaurants, hotels, stores and much more. When I went to their website all I found was 10-15% off. Then I found out that the credit that they've given me is through a credit card company called Medicard. They didn't even mention it; I thought that it was going through them.

Then I changed my mind and I wanted to cancel the contract back in November 6th, 2007. I didn't pay Medicard because I didn't know who they were at the beginning so I called the Club Par Excellance with no reply, no matter how many times I try I end up with no reply. Then Medicard keep calling and bugging my husband at work to make the payments, they called so many times. We thought that we can't get out of the situation; the first payment was on November 27th, 2007. The payments $205.14, the payment was suppose to be $175.14. They said they charged us extra for late payment.

When I lost my job I couldn't handle any more of the payments. I tried again to get a hold of Club Par Excellance to try to reason with them to cancel the contract. Still there was no response so I decided to close my bank account so no more payment can go through. I've talked to Medicard and they knew I was going to close my account in September 2008 they took two payments instead on one for that month.

So far I have paid $2691.68 into this club. I haven't received any of the services they promised, they made many promises which they broke. I think this company Club Par Excellance is a scam. They are there to lie and steal other people's money. I'm hoping Consumer Services officer. I'm hoping that Consumer Services officer would help me solve this problem because of Club Par Excellance the Medicard are taking my to court for the rest of the money, which I think I shouldn't pay because I didn't get any services. I thank the Consumer Service office for any support they give me.

Yours Truly,

Karimeh
