This company is claiming to be based in New York. I called this agency and spoke with a 'Howard O'Reily who stated that I was to be a secret shopper for major chain stores. They also sent me a check and told me that it would be activated after I contacted them. I initially didnt think much of it as I had applied to something similar some weeks back.
After talking with this individual I called the credit union (Alliance) and asked them to verify the check validity. After giving them the number they reported that the check was not valid and that I had not been the first person to call that day about the same thing.
I then called CMI Research's office in Georgia and they stated that numerous people had been reporting this and asked me to fax all information to them. They also stated that they currently had someone investigating the scammers. And they said there is no New York office.
