College Works Painting CWP Rip off!! TOOK $600 deposit & Scammed me with BAIT & SWITCH Michigan
In June a young kid knocked on my door to for a free exterior painting quote. He quoted me $2250 and took a $600 deposit, we both signed a contract. I was told my house would be painted the end of June (which was 3-4 weeks from the date I signed the contract) Didn’t hear from anyone for over 2 months and they had $600 of my money!! Finally reached out to the kid that wrote my contract and he no longer worked there but said he’d have someone call me. A week later another kid came over; we picked out colors and just when he was about to paint test patches, he proceeds to tell me that it will be DOUBLE the price and the job will cost me $3450!! I have a signed contract for $2250 that lists exactly what they’ll do (power wash, scrape, caulk, paint: trim, sofets, siding) and with 1 coat high quality Sherwin Williams paint - THEY HAVE HAD $600 of my money for over 2 months!! His manager Nate was rude and unhelpful. Blamed the previous intern for quoting wrong and tells me the new intern would have to pay out of his pocket to get my job done. Nobody is available to process my cancellation and nobody can tell me when I will get my money back. DO NOT ANSWER your door for these people! They bait and switch! Complete scam, underbid to get a deposit then disappeared for months just to come back and requote double the price; what a joke!!! Save yourself the hassle.
