I was contacted by CVL upper management at least 3 times after I wrote my complaint. They went over my paperwork and have come to the conclusion that a mistake was made and apologized and promised that they are in the process of resolving this issue to my satisfaction.
I must say that they did seem genuinely concerned. It is not often that a company will take the time to review a complaint and graciously correct the mistake. For that I must assume that my assessment of them may have been hasty.
If they keep their word then I am satisfied and a happy guy.
