I signed up for comcast internet a few years ago.  It was supposed to be a special price of $19.99 but it was 45 bucks.  The first red flag, but what can you do?  There are no other options for high speed internet.  (there is a DSL plan around, but it's about the same price as comcast and about as "fast" as dial up.)

Then about two years ago I signed up for a $24.99 a month special to ad a TV package.   It turned out the $24.99 package is actually $40 so my bill should have been $85 a month.  And it was- for ONE month.

Then the bill steadily increased every month, even though I had only basic cable and internet and no movie channels, etc.  We didn't watch any extra Pay per view or anything else.  Mostly just the History Channel.

So by now I'm completely fed up and cancelled before I could be billed for December.  I took back the equipment and everything. So guess what my bill is this month- internet only, no TV at all?

Our initial contract was fulfilled years ago so there isn't a cancellation fee. 

This is SUCH a rip off!  They shouldn't be able to have a complete monopoly and set the price with no competition allowed.
