Comp USA, Manager Chris Mccoy, And Technical Service Sales Mike Did not fix sony laptop even with a 3 year extended warrenty Ripoff Ft Myers Florida
I bought a sony TX650P PM 753 at Comp USA for way over $2,000.00 on Dec 27, 2005. I also purchased the 3 year extended warrenty, because as my sales man pointed out it is small and the screen as well as the wireless antena have a tendancy of breaking. He continued to explain that with the warrenty no matter what happens to it they will fix it or replace it. That sounded good to me and I purchased the 3 year extended warrenty.
At the end of Febuary 2007 I finally took my laptop to Comp USA to get repaired because the antena broke off and I found a crack around the screen. When I droped it off the girl who wrote up my paper work said it would take no more than 2 weeks to get it back.
2 weeks turned into months. On June 4th, 2007 I decided to stop by Comp USA and see what was happening with my computer. When I spoke with Mike, one of the employes in the technical services department, he said that my computer was not covered by the warrenty and that there was nothing they could do. Well lets just say I was not amused, I had him get the manager and I would not leave until they promised to do what they said they would do; which was to fix the antena and screen. The manager said he was going to make sure it was fixed and even if the warrenty did not cover he would cover it and make sure it would be done ASAP.
Well, on June 21st I got a phone call and my assistant picked up the phone she told me that Comp USA called and they said that my computer was destroied and that it was not picked up in 30 day they would dispose of it. On June 25th I went to Comp USA to pick up my laptop, as I stood in line the lady in front of me was complaining that she was leaving for a trip and needed her camera back. They promised her that she would recive it back in 2 weeks. She told them 2 weeks had turned into over a month and she wanted to know where her camera was. Mike the employee went to the back and when he came back he informed the girl that her camera had been just sent out to get fixed that morning. I am sure you can imagine her reaction.
Mike told me that there was nothing they could do for me and that my computer was not fixable, I said well then it should be replaced and he said it was not covered in the warrenty. I asked him to give me his full name and the full name of his manager as well as the phone number of corporate. He refused to give me his full name and gave me the full name the manager which is Chris Mccoy and the phone number of the regional sales manager. This is my first step and tomorrow I will call corporate. Not sure what they will do to fix it or if they even will bother trying to fix it, but I will try.
