Compucom I am being discriminated against by Xerox because I don't want the incompetent technicians from Compucom repairing my printer that is under warranty. Compucom has the Xerox contract "sewn up" and any Improperly repaired my printer. Got another authorized dealer involved and now I am being released from the Free Color Printers Program early. Reston, Virginia
I am participating in Xerox's Free Color Printers Program. My printer is still under warranty and I am not scheduled to "graduate" from the program until 6 months from now (March 2011). When my printer broke, a technician came out from Compucom. The technician had failed to perform a repair on a printer in a previous FCP program, so I was appalled to see him still in Compucom's employ. When he became argumentative and difficult, blaming the printer problem on me, I asked him to leave. He ignored my request. He then proceeded to repair the printer. He left, with the printer in worse shape than it was in before the repair. He also left black grease all over the printer and did not have anything to clean it off with. I just wanted him out of my house.
I contacted Xerox Free Color Printer Customer Service about the problem and was given a number of authorized Xerox service centers to contact within the Washington Metropolitan Area.
The new technicians were unable to repair my printer and a refurbished printer arrived today. I later received a phone call from Free Color Printers to tell me that I was being released from the program early, thus losing my warranty on the printer that has yet to be unpacked. I was told that this was because I refused to let Xerox's main repair company, Compucom, perform any maintenance on my equipment. I had endured years of poor, incomplete repairs from Compucom and had, instead, used an approved independent repair technician who has since moved out of the state.
I asked if I would be able to apply for a new Free Color Printers term and was told that I may not even be approved because of my refusal to let Xerox dispatch Compucom to perform warranty work on the printers.
I had no clue that Compucom was so large and had control over so many corporate accounts. Any insight, contacts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
