Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have had an acct. with Continental Finance for about 6 maybe 7 months and maybe a few times I have paid late but I have never completely missed a payment. In other words I have been a pretty good customer. The last payment I made I used their incredibly generic website to make my payment. While doing this I some how (my fault entirely) I charged myself twice. I called to speak with a customer service and she informed me that there is nothing that they can do to help me. So I told her never mind I will go thru my bank and reverse the charge. So everything went fine, my bank reversed the charge, Continetal received their payment and I went on my way.

Well come to find out via email from their collection dept. That they have suspended my card due to the fact that I reversed this charge. I don't know if this is normal industry practice, I myself have never worked for a credit card company but I do know that it seems pretty ridiculous that they would revoke my card for reversing a payment when they received the initial payment, which again I have an email with a confirmation number for my payment.

So okay, that upsets me but who really cares right?? This company is in the business of providing people with bad credit scores a chance to build credit with a low credit card amount of $300 that you have to pay them $270.00 just to beging using in the first place. Seems like a scam but in a way it' not. It does have a purpose but those fees are for like a $10.00 a month maintnence fee and other BS that they throw in there.

Okay so let me just get to the part where they really pissed me off. Today when i got the email telling me that my card has been revoked I called their 1800 # and got in touch with this women that works their customer service, I explained everything and when I was done speaking I figured this is were she is going to start speaking, well there was nothing but silence from her and background noise from the call center she was in and then she just hung up on me.

It's the customer service with these people that piss me off! and now that I think more about it, how can it be ethical for a credit card company extend a line of credit for $300 and then charge you $270.00 to activate the card? I can see how that would be if they are just covering themselves in case you never pay back but in my case If I pay back the $300 balance on my card isn't that like paying it twice?? I mean here they get the consumer to pay $270.00 to activate the card plus all their little fees and this that the other plus if you end your service with them then you have to pay back all the fees and the principle amount...

I guess i did this to myself though, I usaully good a seeing a rip off when I see one and when I first see their offer and all the fine print and charges it did raise some red flags but I really wanted something to start building my credit. Plus I figured if I was responsible with paying my bill every month that nothing bad should happen and I would accomplish what I set out to do.

I guess i just really fxxxed myself out of $270.00 : (

Nothing i can do about it... figured this is probably about it.
