Costume Disguises, Costume Hut ripoff, deceptive, dishonest, fraudulent billing, never received costumes! Internet
I ordered 3 costumes and 2 accessories for Halloween on October 5, 2005. I was able to pick the date that I wanted them to be delivered via Canada Post and I chose the earliest date available, October 21, 2005.
My credit card was debited on October 5, 2005 for $173.99, which did not include one of the costumes that I ordered. I tried to call the company but received a message that their company was experiencing a high volume of calls and to contact them by email. I did and received an email back explaining that the costume that had not been charged was out of stock and I would not be billed for it until it arrived. I was assured that it would arrive in time for Halloween and I would not have to pay extra postage for it to be shipped separately.
My credit card was then debited on October 20, 2005 for $39.98, the cost of the missing costume.
Octber 21, 2005 comes and goes...no costumes. I tried calling, same voice recording, no matter what time of the day that I called. I called their direct line several times, was sent to a voice mailbox that was full and unable to take my message. I have sent emails everday and have not heard from anyone.
It is now October 27, 2005 and I still have yet to receive the costumes that I paid for, an email telling me where they are (I never did get a tracking number from them), or a phone call back.
The total amount that the stole from me is $213.97 and does not include the international calls that I made to Canada. Nor does it include my families huge disappointment for not getting to dress up as Star Wars for Halloween because now we don't have costumes.
