The owners of this Country Inn are so greedy.  My husband & I stayed at this particular Country Inn in May 13,14, 2014 first to attend the funeral for my brother.  The owners are so awful and uncareing, when I found out my brother couldn't be buried that week as the funeral home couldn't get the death certificate as he died in Stanislaus County, & the funeral would then have to be pushed up to May 31, 2014.

At this point it was still May 14 & we let the front office Know that we would be checking out the next morning. We gave them notice as soon as we found out & they said they didn't know if that was good enough & I really thought it was going to be, but the next morning, when we actually did check out, they said we were checking out early & they were going to charge us for that night.  I even put in a charge dispute with our credit card company.  After looking at the forms the Country Inn had faxed my credit card co there was a lot of small print that we never read before signing anything when we 1st checked in!!!  This Country Inn is so smooth they knew exactly how & what the credit card co was going to ask for so please be careful with your credit card.

After reading several reviews from different travelers it seems this is par for the course.

The Country Inns main goal is to be able to double book the room, charge your credit card rip you off & rip the next guy off.........nothing but a scam

So sorry if I explained myself wrong in my writing, just trying to warn travelers before they make the same mistake at this hotel as it is highway robbery & only because they were able to dot their I's cross their it's were they able to get away with this through our credit card co.  Check out time is 12 PM & they require 24 hrs notice.

As soon as we found out my brother couldn't be buried that week & we would have to come back up, we let the hotel know immediately at 3pm on May 14 ( we actually thought we had given plenty of notice ).  When we checked out on May 15 @10:45am, they said they were going to charge us for an extra night, penalty for early check out......

My credit card company even said they had never heard of anybody being so cold-hearted & uncaring but there was nothing they could do as they were following the rules set fourth even if I had only missed  the hour by a minute they could still collect,  my credit card company had just never had seen anything this extreme before......baaaad country inn

If you don't read before you sign, whose fault is that?

"   After looking at the forms the Country Inn had faxed my credit card co there was a lot of small print that we never read before signing anything when we 1st checked in!!! "

All hotels have cancellation policies.  Most of them will charge you for leaving a day early.  I suspect that 9 out of 10 hotels would have done exactly the same thing for an early checkout of a reserved room.  Unless there is a convention in town, chances are that they will not fill the room overnight.
