Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On Wednesday, I filed a claim with my home warranty company for air conditioning. The motor went out.

On Thursday, the PREFERRED VENDER, Curtis Heat and Air, came to my house. Shane Wilkinson (owner)  said it was the motor and he said I had to go ahead and pay the deductible in order to get it fixed. So I did.

He was scheduled to be back out FIRST THING FRIDAY morning. But he did have a funeral at 10:30. So if he didn't make it out before the funeral, he would most certainly be there after. I even told him that I HAD to have the AC fixed before the weekend b/c 1. I have a family member with multiple sclerosis and will go blind if it's too hot and 2. my 5 year old as severe respiratory issues and we cannot open the windows or risk triggering a breathing attack.

He replied "I promise I'll get you working before the weekend."

And with that - he drove off with my $100 and I never saw or heard from him again.

On Friday, I lost over $400 in income. ON Saturday, $200. And on Monday, I'll lose almost $600. I work from home, and I cannot work without my air conditioning. It's been so hot and stuffy since we cannot open the windows.

I called Amanda (co-owner) and Shane Wilkinson of Curtis heat and air multiple times on Friday. Eventually, the calls started going straight to voicemail. So he was hitting decline on his cell. On Saturday, I started calling again. Same thing. Eventually, the voice mail was full.

Every single day this unit is not fixed, I lose a significant portion of my income. And every single day it's not fixed, two of my family members suffer health ailments and all of us suffer from the heat and stuffiness.

I am ready to take action against this company. Better Business Bureau. Rip off report. And every other online reporting agency.  I would appreciate assistance.

Funny how when you put in Shane CURTIS Wilkinson you get "see" things that no one else can...all I see is a seatbelt violation in 2007, a marriage license purchase in 2006, and driving with a revoked license in 2003...so tell me do you have magic eyeballs? Please do yourself a favor and let this be. They are wonderful people.

Here is the criminal and civil litigations - pulled straight from OSCN.

CM 2003-1802 - Shane Curtis Wilkinson - driving under recovation
Criminal Misdemeanor

TR 2007-13545 - Shane Curtis Wilkinson - Seat belt violation
SC 2009-435
CS 2010-1040 against SHANE and AMANDA BETH POOL WILKINSON  (taking money)

SC 2011-18467 Shane wilkinson (taking money)

SC 2004-12967 Forcible Entry and Detainer against shane wilkinson

SC 2004-2708 Forcible Entry and Detainer against Shane Wilkinson

Shall I go on?

1. Amanda was the one who called me to set up the initial appointment. They are married. Obviously, she is part of this business.
2. No one can aruge that Shane Wilkinson took money to do a job, promised to return and then did not. Nor did he call to explain.
3. No one can argue that Shane Wilkinson contacted the warranty company and told them that my AC was bad due to "cottonwood damage" to void my warranty. The home warranty company has given proof of this.

These are the only facts that matter.

His criminal and civil litigation record is public record. Again, I will let the evidence speak for itself.

I find it so interesting that at no time did anyone say "I'm sorry we messed up. Let us make this right."
Because as the owner of a business, and having two parents who each owned their own successful businesses, I KNOW that's what we would have done.

But please, continue to attack and threaten me, the consumer who was lied to, stolen from, and trying to seek fairnss. It only shows your business practices. I can PROMISE you that you've done more harm to your business through your unprofessional posts, rants and threats than my truth ever could do.

So keep showing your true colors. Please. You will ensure that you cannot defraud anyone again.

I will let you know that the BBB WILL investigate this matter and when Shane Wilkinson is found to NOT be at fault it will be documented on the BBB site. Furthermore, the more times you post false statements of slander and defamation, you will be held liable in a court of law for what you have said. I highly suggest you submit a rebuttal and an apology to Shane Wilkinson and his family.  I am willing to stand in court for the Wilkinson family of need be. I will be visiting the BBB website as well as Angies list and I will contact them to let them know what you are doing and how wrong it is!

I feel the need the intervene being the wife, not CO-OWNER, not EMPLOYEE, simply the wife of Shane Wilkinson. If anyone would like to check my husband's background, please feel free to visit www.oscn.net as before mentioned, but please be sure you are looking at the correct individual. My husbands full name is Shane Curtis Wilkinson and I have yet to find a DUI, forcible entry or any personal lawsuits against him using this website. However, you will find proof of our marriage license as well as two traffic tickets. I wasn't aware that traffic violations were considered a "criminal past". My husband is LICENSED, BONDED and INSURED in the State of Oklahoma. A "criminal" would not be BONDED by the state. He has never had these charges brought against him and I am sickened that someone would accuse him as such without having any legitimate proof. I do believe this is defamation of character and/or slander. We have already contacted a very reputable attorney to handle all previous and any further false accusations made against myself, my husband or his company. The author of the post claims to have a receipt stating "Will return Friday" yet I hold in my hand the original to her carbon copy that simply states "Will return". This is absolutely no date listed so that was a complete fabrication. We will be happy to produce this at any time. As far as legally owing anyone money, the refund is in the mail, so I guess that point is moot as well. I would like to thank the customers that took the time to tell what an honest businessman my husband really is.

Legally Shane still owes me money. Yes, let's get the lawyers involved.

It's simple: www.oscn.net and type in Shane Curtis  Wilkinson.

Really easy. Even a simple person can do it.

Public records.

And btw, I have it in writing that he said he'd return!

he wrote it on the ticket he gave me.

 Anyway, I'm done with this.

I'll just let his criminal record, and teh fact that he's been terminated for this, speak for itself.

My only question is this:

Why take the call? Why come to my house Thursday afternoon, take my money and then promise to return?

Why not say "my grandfather died. I have his funeral tomorrow. I can't come back until Monday."

Or why just not take the call? If he would have declined to take it, the warranty company would have simply assigned another vender.

Why take the call?
why take the money?
And why did he not choose to make a simple telephone call to say he was not coming back when he promised?

This is all on Shane wilkinson. I am not a vicious person in any way. But I'm not a push over either.

All he had to do was say "I'm sorry. I am in a family tragedy. Please choose another vender." All he had to do was say "I can't take your money because I'm not sure I can come back and do the work."
That's what an honest person would have done.

But he took the $100 cash out of my hand, looked me straight in the eye and said "I'll have you working before the weekend, I promise."

No one is doubting his family tragedy. No one is doubting he had something bad happen.

But if he KNEW he had the funeral, why did he take the call? IF he KNEW he had the funeral, why did he take my money? If he KNEW he was in a tragedy, why did he make a promise?

Also, he did intentionally try to void my warranty. This was malicious and deceitful. He lied and he got caught.

Either way -- I'm done. Justice has been served. he will not cheat or defraud another customer from this warranty company.

and I've filed complaints with Angies list and the better business bureau. I'll just let him criminal record speak for itself.

I was not going to file another rebuttal to this pack of LIES from norman mom about my son-in-law Shane, but I am so angry that I just had to--plus I did not read her 2nd post before I wrote my first rebuttal.

You conveniently neglected to mention the fact that you left rude, hateful phone messages ALL DAY while we were AT THE FUNERAL on Friday, didn't you?You say you are compassionate and reasonable?Who does that to a person when they KNOW(and you did because you said you did)they are at a funeral? How nice for Shane and Amanda to have to listen to your rants after what they had gone through that day!!

You also post what you think is someone's criminal record without verifying it first? You have broken the law!I do not know whose record you found, but it was NOT Shane's!!It is ILLEGAL to post false information about a person online.I know this because last night I spoke with a close personal friend of mine who is an attorney that has had a reputable, established practice in OKC for over 40 years! He is personally acquainted with Shane and has  known Amanda since she was born!!Rest assured he has seen what you posted, and tells me we have a very winnable case for libel, slander, and defamation of character. He will handle the case PRO BONO for us.You have added tragedy to an already devastating family tragedy.Justice served?? Not yet, but it will be.

I am appalled at the MISinformation posted about Shane Wilkinson and his wife. First off, his wife is NOT a co-owner. She has nothing to do with the company.

Under the advise of the post from the consumer I looked up Shane Wilkinson on the courthouse website. If you just put in Shane Wilkinson, true a bunch of criminal records surface BUT if you dig deeper and use Shane Wilkinson's FULL NAME, here are no such records.

For a person claiming to be compassionate, it did not take you long to drag a great businessman's name through the mud. Posting false claims about a person on the internet is a terrible thing to do and you can be held responsible for YOUR actions. Honestly if you KNEW they had a funeral to attend on Friday you should be more understanding.  You go on to accuse him of sabotaging your A/C (?) without evidence. I am sorry you feel that this is the proper way to rectify a problem you are having.

I have had my HVAC serviced by Shane many times and will continue to do business with him.  He is knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous.

I am very upset to see this letter.    I have had the pleasure of working with Shane.  And if I might say, he was by far the kindest and most pleasant person to work with.  Almost like a family member.  I know for a fact he wouldn't have told you he'd be there on Friday because who would do that. He had a family funeral.  That is an important event in my book and I wouldn't have even expected him to come.  I also know that he probably told you Saturday or Monday at the latest you know for all the catching up he would have had to do.  So boo on you and your horrible attitude.  It sounds more like you want to  take people for al they have.  People like you have no place in my  s world.  I don't care about your sob stories to make it look like you are in the right on this situation.  Because you are not.  You are horrible. Now moving on...I went to the website that you told everyone to check out (OSCN)   just as I suggested you were wrong again.  Didn't see anything of the kind.  Maybe you should get your facts straight before bad mouthing innocent people. And if I were Shane I would seriously consider getting a lawyer and sue you for deffermation of character and many other things to go with that.  So I think I will give them a call tonight and suggest just that.  I am so tired of the sue happy people in this world that ruin the lives of INNOCENT people such as Shane.  And I for one would be glad to go to court and stand up for him.  So I think you should think carefully before you say another thing wrong that may get you in more trouble with the law. Judges don't look to that too kindly.  So let me tell you one more thing... I have had the best service    with Curtis Heat and Air and I stand by their work.  And your little words won't change the way I feel.  I would use them again and again.

expecting someone to work on the day of a close family member's funeral?

My name is Jay Pool.Amanda and Shane Wilkinson of Curtis Heat and Air are my daughter and son-in-law.My father was buried on Friday, May 11.His funeral was at 11:30 am.Shane served as a pallbearer. He and my daughter were very close to her grandfather. How anyone could expect a person who has just suffered a loss like the one Shane and Amanda suffered on Friday, and expect them to work is totally beyond me!

I have known Shane for 6 years. He has done numerous jobs for myself and my family, and has always done them to our satisfaction.I know many other people that Shane has worked for, and all of them have been happy with his work.

I'm not sure why this person feels the need to make this vicious and uncalled for attack on my family. You couldn't wait one lousy day, and let them grieve and spend time with their family on the day of the funeral???Would you want to work on the day of a funeral of one of your family members?

It's a real shame that you have done this, and I hope you're happy about the unhappiness you have caused.I just hope no one ever does anything like this to you or your family.

Clearly, the above explanation was written by either the owner of the company or a friend. No one other than them would even know I filed the report.

But THIS shows the character of Shane Wilksin of Curtis Heat and Air:

1. On Monday morning, I contacted my warraty company about having the unit fixed. The rep told me that Shane Wilksinson called in late Saturday night. He told them my "fan motor was locked up due to excessive Cottonwood damage." And he said it was "neglect" in nature. This statement by him, of course, voided my warranty.

I had to then send my warranty company Shane's receipt which clearly showed that he "will return Friday morning" with the "fan motor1/5 hp 1075 rpm"  and there was NOTHING on the report about neglect or cottonwood damage. I also had to submit records for my march maintenance.

Shane maliciously tried to injure me by voiding my home warranty by saying the unit was neglected, even though I've 1. only lived here since March, 2. had another H&A company inspect the unit in march and it passed and 3. do not have any cottonwood trees.

After speaking with a manager at the home warranty company, I sent them a copy of Shane wilkinson's criminal history, including multiple personal lawsuits against him for taking money under false pretenses, 2 DUI's and at least 2 forcible entry and detainers. (This is public records. Go to www.oscn.net)

At that point, the home warranty company sent over another company. That company confirmed that 1. my unit showed NO signs of neglect. There was NO cottonwood wood damage. Therefore, my warranty was reinstated. and 2. That it appeared someone (Shane wilkinson?) had intentionally short circuited the electrical box to the AC unit, doing hundreds of dollars in damages to my home.

In the end, the home warranty company sent an electrician who replaced the electrical work for my house and replaced my air conditioning unit. I was treated fairly by the home warranty company, and they waived all my deductibles to try to make this right.

I will also add that the home warranty company told Shane Wilkinson that he had to return $30 to me immediately. They said he could keep the $70 for a trade fee (and they would reimburse me for that directly), but that he had to return the $30 to me himself. He reported to this company that he had already done that, which is a lie.

I will also add that Mr. WIlkinson has been terminated from the home warranty company - for fraud and criminal activity.

I am an extremely compassionate person, and I'm more than reasonable. And if at any point, Shane or Amanda Wilkinson would have picked up the telephone and called to say "we can't come today" or made any attempt to communicate with us. . . we would have been accomodating.
But when you take money straight out of someone's hand, look her in the eye and say "I promise I'll be back tomorrow first thing." And the you don't. . . you need to at least contact her.

And I am so grateful I didn't buy his "maintenance program" that he tried to sell me that day. For $100, he would change your filters and clean your unit twice a year. I wonder how many people fell for that one?

All you have to do is look at the criminal and civil litigation history of Shane Wilkinson and you will see that this is not an isolated incident.

But at least now, he cannot defraud any other customers of this warranty program.

P.S. When the new AC repair techs were here, they said that they had just left another home where Curtis Heat and Air had messed up. A woman had a hole in her unit that was leaking freon. Instead of fixing the hole, Shane just filled it up with freon and took the deductible and left. another "bandaid" for instant cash in the pocket.

But again -- he cannot cheat any one else from this warranty program. He has been terminated as a contractor.

Justice Served.

Not only have I utilized Curtis Heat and Air for my business and personal needs, but many of my friends and fellow business owners have as well, and I have heard not a SINGLE complaint. Mr. Wilkinson has always been very curteous and knowledgeable, and he is always prompt and detailed about what needs to be taken care of. Mr. Wilkinson has been very flexible and works around my schedule to set up appointments. From my personal experience, the warranty company always has me pay a deductible up front, regardless if the work will be done or not. This is standard policy. Another thing I would like to address from the first posting is the fact that this family was dealing with the loss of a loved one. There has to be an exception to the rules when someone has a family member pass. I assume you do not know this family or what they were going through during that rough time. It seems you have no compassion. With that said, I just wanted to make it clear that this company has always returned my calls and taken care of my HVAC needs, with 100% satisfaction. The prices are extremely affordable and the most reasonable I have found anywhere in the metro. I am sticking with Curtis Heat and Air!
