I went to Danny's Car Wash for a headlight defogging. They asked me to pay the charges and wait in their waiting area. I paid and waited for about 20-25 minuted before the manager called me for teh vehicle inspection. The defogging job was not up to the mark, but I was OK with it. However, the Manager informed me taht they had a situation with my car. The manager said that the Driver's side car door handle broke as he was tryingto open it. When I asked them to fix it, they said, they would not fix it and neither would they provide me with any compensation for breaking the door handle. Instead they asked me to go to Nissan and get it fixed myself. The costof teh door handle is approximate $220.

When I told them that the car handle was fine before I came to Danny's. The manager told me that these sort of things happen with cars all the time and they would not take any responsibility for it. When I told them that I would have to report this, they said to give them a couple of days time to speak to their corporate office. They said they would get back to me. On my persisting they filed a complaint on a Danny's paper for their corporate office. I got the photo copy of the complaint where the manager has described what has happend and have signed it.

After two days passed when I did not receive a call from them. I called them, their manager said they would call me back. One more day passed by and I had to call them back. They said they are still working on it. I called them again, and this time they provided me with a new number for someone at the corporate office. I called this person twice in two days and he too informed me that he would be back to me. Finally after a week when I called again, the person at the corporate office was very rude and said, that they would not take any responsibility of what has happened and asked me not to bother them with such issues.

Now I have to spend the $220 from my pocket for the fault that the manager at Danny car wash commmited.

Nothing wrong with my Nissan Altima

I have done online research before filing this report. There hasn't been any issues with Nissan Altima door handles. I had also taken the car to the Nissan Service center and they confirmed the same.

The door handle will break like the way it did only if it is not carefully handled. This was clearly a case of carelessness on the part of the ,manager of Danny's. I'll post the pictures of the of the broken door handle soon.

On top of that forget apologizing they were not even ready to talk to me when I called and even did not return my call whenever I left a message.  When I go for any kind of service, I atleast expect good customer service which I clear did not get.

And know I have to pay $220 for something someone else at Danny;s did.

Colorado,
Don't know what model Nissan you have, but Nissan DOES have problems with their door handles...

Danny's just had the misfortune of having it break when they opened the door.  GM had similar problems for an number of years. On my buick, the hole in the handle that the actuator rod attaches to wears through and you can't open the door.

It's a relatively easy fix and you can Google Nissan door handle problems and even see some videos on how to do it yourself on the Nissan.  You likely owe Danny's an apology.
