Belssing Taylor of Deluxe Hire, previously known to customers only as Bebe, agreed to hire me some champagne glasses for my wedding in 2012. She called me three days before the wedding to tell me that she could not provide me with the glasses but that she would give me a full refund of the £300 deposit I had paid. I then spent that day and the following calling other suppliers to try to hire some glasses last minute which was no easy task.
She never paid me back the deposit depite numerous phone calls and emails requesting my money and even a claim with the small claims court. She was then subject to a BBC watchdog program which showed that I was not the only one this had happened to. The programme forced her to start paying back all of the people she had done similar to. She therefore contacted me recently to offer me £220 of the money owed.
Now that I finally had a chance to tell her what I thought (she was not in the habit of returning emails before) I told her I felt she was dishonest and despicable for almost ruining ours and others' weddings and that I begrudgingly accepted the lessor amount as full and final settlement. However she wrote back telling me to alter my tone or I would get nothing which is exactly what happened. She still has our deposit almost 3 years after not providing us with the goods and is still refusing to pay. Please do not let this happen to you and your wedding.

yes, two years of which I never forgot the debt I owed you and other creditors. It just comes across as vindictive and rather petty for you to file this defamatory report right after I made contact to settle your debt. You also made no attempt to update your record until you were threatened with legal action. But thanks anyway for doing this.
And also, i would be very grateful indeed if you could update your court record. Thank you.

I can confirm that since filing my previous report that I have been repaid in full almost two years after making payment and almost two years after Deluxe Hire failing to provide goods for hire for my wedding. I should add that my wedding was on a Sunday and deluxe hire informed me that they could not make the order the Thursday prior to the wedding leaving me with little time to arrange for a large number of glasses to be delivered to our venue in Tunbrdige Wells by another supplier. This was very stressful for me 3 days prior to my wedding with so much else going on.

DeluxeHire provides services for private and corporate clients, photographers, hotels, production and television companies across the UK. We successfully deliver hundreds of orders to various events every year. Clients who seek high-end deluxe products to create unique, memorable and successful events come to us. Our customer base is strong. We stock over 2000 products from major suppliers in the hospitality and events industry. And those are some of the reasons why we remain in business today despite all the many challenges the business has faced.
Additionally, in 2013, we took the extraordinary step of instating a minimum order value of £120.00 including vat, simply because our business was overwhelmed with demand - that shows confidence.
The nature of catering and event equipment hire is inherently complex (it just is!) In this industry, 95% of customer orders return with losses, damages or breakages. We're talking about goods such as glassware, cutlery, crockery etc. It is not inconceivable that glassware or crokery may break or cutlery ends up in bins, etc. At DeluxeHire, it is rear that we cancel an order but occasionally it happens, when a customer fails to return their complete order. When that happens, we take responsibility and work closely with the customer - should they wish -to find a solution. Our close links with other hire companies ensure that there is absolutely no reason to disappoint anyone.
It is correct that Rebekah Oliver hired 100 drinking glasses and 2 stands from us. Actual value of order is £82.00 and vat £29.20. Courier charge £62.00. Damage deposit £100.00. Total value of order £275.20. Due to high levels of breakages sustained by a hirer at her wedding, we were short of the type of glassware Rebekah had ordered. Rebekah Oliver was informed and given adequate notice (3 days) in which to source the glasseware from other hire companies of which there are many in London. Nevertheless, we can confirm that Rebekah Oliver was fully repaid the total sum of £300.20.
Rebekah Oliver, your report suggest that DeluxeHire is still in debt to you which is false. It gives the impression that you have not received full payment of £300.20. You claim to be a solicitor so you should know that putting out misleading and defamatory information can lead to litigation.
Also, as a solicitor, you should know that Rogue Traders cannot make any one repay debt to customers. And you should probably be aware that there are legitimate options for getting out of debt leaving customers out of pocket, but we haven't chosen any of those options. What has happened is that we've settled down in our warehouse in Slough and have put our affairs in order, and that is the reason we contacted all our creditors to pay what we owe and am glad to say that we have. DeluxeHire does not operate any other way despite what others might have the public believe about us.
Therefore, we invite you Rebekah Oliver, to update your report confirming that you have received full payment from DeluxeHire within 72 hours, otherwise we would have no other option but to commence legal action against you, something we would rather not do.
