Democracy Resources Deceptive and Manipulative ways to scam innocent people who need jobs. Orange, California
I heard about this comapany that was paying $12.00 dollars per hour for having people sign petitions. I thought that would be perfect. So my sister mom and I all decided to go check this place out. They hired us and told us we would be making $12/hr. After about 2 weeks the gas we were putting in didnt come close to the "reimbursements" we were getting. The hours werent working out since I have a 2 year old son. So we decided to quit. The mananger told us our checks would be there Friday. When we went to pick up our checks they had only paid us $10.50/hr and were taking an hour from us each day.
Their explanation was if you worked over 35 hours you make $12 if you work less you make $10.50. When asked why we were not informed of that to start off with he said he must have forgot. BUT was not willing to help fix this.
It is HIGHLY illegal to take more then 30 minutes a day from an employee in the state of CA. So not only are they banking off you thinking your making more money they are stealing a half hour each day as well.
Very unproffesional and very dishonest. They were hiring about 15 to 20 people a day praying on the fact that all these people thought they were making more money only to find out when they got there checks that it wasnt the case. We asked to handle this civily and they will not respond.
