Derek Beachler - Derek's Speed Leveling Guide Sells defective product, promises support & does not deliver. Unresponsive to emails! World Of Warcraft Internet
As I got into World of Warcraft I was consistently seeing SPAM in the chat channels regarding purchasing gold and leveling. I came into the game a few years later than most of my friends, so seeing this was often tempting, but being a gamer for many years, I would rather learn myself than cheat like that. Upon joining some tip newsletters I was given many decent and successful tips that have made me a lot of gold and helped with many aspects of the game. One email contained information about a new leveling guide that was coming out, that was put together by someone that seemed to have some other guides out there Derek Beachler (levelfaster.com was the URL I believe I was directed to there are many out there directing you to this guide.)
After doing a little research and having used some of the free guides, I liked the idea of having a guide that worked as an addon like questhelper and would be updated as new content was released. With some hesitation I purchased the Derek's Speed Leveling Guide containing both alliance and horde guides. I was given a link that would allow me download the package. On doing this I unzipped the files and installed as directed (at this point I had been playing for a few months and being a computer programmer, fully understood the concept of installing addons for WoW.)
At the time I was around level 40, I used the guide and discovered after a few weeks that there was nothing for the section of the guide from 50-55 (or maybe it was 55-60 I am not 100% sure now and the guide won't even load so I can't check to confirm). I checked on a few characters and when I jumped to that section nothing would load, when I was in that level range, nothing would load. On the selling website it stated that there was an 8 week guarantee, so I contact them and received no response. After 2 weeks of attempting to contact them, I requested a refund since they would not respond regarding support. Surprise, still no response. I continued to contact them and continued to play.
When the Wraith of the Lich King expansion date was released, I was excited as most WoW players were. I wanted to hit 70 before it came out so I could get to Northrend and get to 80. I was also apprehensive because the guide already had bugs, Derek Beachler was unresponsive to the bugs I had sent, they would not acknowledge my refund request and there was sure to be major changes in the coding of the game. A major content patch came out a month before the release of WOTLK and when it was released Derek's Speed Leveling Guide addon stopped working. I attempted to contact them and after a few more times using email addresses that were in SPAM I was receiving from their company trying to sell me other guides (yes they continue to SPAM you even after you request for them to stop) I got a response saying they would look into it, but then never anything further.
Currently every few weeks I get an email from them and they are trying to sell me some new leveling guide or gold guide. I ALWAYS reply asking them to fix the guide they sold me or at least respond back about it, they never reply.
I have requested a refund from ClickBank, though I do not know how that will go. I would say stay away from these pay leveling guides. There are some well known ones throughout the community, but I think it is crazy to pay for a PDF document when there are many free ones out there. I suppose some of the pay ones may be legit and possibly worth it, but I would 100% advise you to stay away from anything Derek Beachler puts out.
