My gorgeous 29 year old daughter and I went to get botox treament from Dr. Marinkus in Rancho Mirage California. He spent a lot of time telling us we both needed to buy other cosmetic treaments from them. My daughter has some 11 frown lines, but that's it. He told her she should get botox all over prophalactically. The point being, we did not ask him for a consultation. We only wanted botox.
He performed the injections in haste. It caused bumps under the skin and bruising. I have had the procedure multiple times before, but never so fast and ROUGH!!!
Normally, it works in 3 days. After, a week, there were no results for my daughter, nor I. We called and they made an appointment to go back in. They tried not to, but we insisted. They said we don't have any appointments. I had to tell them I would refute the charges if they wouldn't see us. We went back, the doctor repeated the treatment. I got 12 injections, again. I asked him to be gentle. He said, "I'm always gentle". He's not. I am a registerd nurse and I worked in the operating room, ICU, Recovery Room for 35 years so I know how to judge technique.
Another week went by, NO RESULTS at all for either of us. We called and spoke to Koleta the office manager. She said she would talk to the doctor about reimbursing us and would get back to us. She never did. We called the office over and over. We were put into Koleta's voicemail, but she never returned our calls. We called and asked for their email. They gave us an emal that didn't work. We called again and told them we were someone else and they gave us an email that worked. We emailed pictures of the results, but no one called us. We called again, we were told Koleta's on vacation, the doctors on vacation, etc. Finally, I called and told them I was Angela Landsbury and I was calling about my facelift. WAH LA! I got through to Koleta. She acted like she had no idea who I was. She denied getting emails or phone calls. I told her I'd resend the email while we were on the phone. Then she admitted to having received the email. She said we would have to go back in and the treatment done a third time and they would not reimburse me. I live in another state and she knew that. None the less I was not going to be jabbed a third time by Dr. Rim Marinkus! I told her I would refute the charges. She said do what you want, we're not returning your money.
I called my credit card company and I am refuting the charges. I'm not sure what will happen, but I have spent some of my time informing you. People like this need to be reported. The other complaints state he is not board certified. I didn't check because it was just botox. I'm not positive why the treatment did not work. It could be the botox was old, diluted and I didn't receive the amount I paid for, which was 60 units.
