Why are you still going back? You obviously don't trust the people at that dealership, so why do you continue to take your vehicle to them? Looking at a yellow page listing for "Nissan" in your area, I show 12 different Nissan dealers/repair shops within 10 miles.

The problem of 2500 RPM is solved, Due to a bad sensor the vechicle computer puts itself in Safe mode "limp mode" turning off the fuel injectors off exactly at 2500 RPM.. this is programmed into the computer to save the engine from damage. See details below The root cause of the problem was a bad sensor. Found this out from a reputable FireStone Manager. Hudson Nissan concealed this fact from me try to milk as much money out of me as possible. They are crooks, the made up a BS story about a UNIFIED MOTOR 600.00 dollars.. So what the dealer did to get around this problem was to reset the computer code therefore disabling the fail safe mode.. they (Hudson Nissan) did this twice. They knew exactly what the problem was. follow link for Nissan computer detail s http://autorepair.about.com/cs/troubleshooting/a/aa031101a.htm In the case of a sensor malfunction, the computer may go into a "fail safe" or "limp in" mode. For example, the Crank Angle Sensor dies and no longer sends a signal to the computer. The computer sees the signal is missing and notes the malfunction code and turns on the check engine light. Now lacking that CAS, signal it goes to the base values stored in the computer and uses that value to control the ignition timing. It's not perfect, but it doesn't leave you stranded on the side of the road. Quite often the computer limits engine RPM to about 2500 RPM to prevent any possible engine damage and further alert the driver to a problem. My suggestion to you avoid HUDSON NISSAN at all cost.

The other dealer would have run the diagnostic too($135), plus the $267 for the service. The only reason they didn't quote the diagnostic was because it had already been done by the first dealership.
