Dinstinct Advantage ripoff tried to steal my identity , obtained my bank account info St. Petersburg Florida
I was contacted by a telemarketer from Distinct Advantage located in Florida by telephone. The representative told me that I had made a qualifying purchase in the last 18 months which entered me into a drawing. I had been selected an had won $400 in travel vouchers as well as $100 of free gas coupons. They congratulated me and told me that they already had my checking account routing info on file and wanted to verify it as well as my checking account number. Altough they had the incorrect routing info they wanted to get my account number for their files.
They also had known my banking institution, residential address and first/last name and home phone number. The following day we immediately froze all of my bank accounts and the bank "Red Flagged" the accounts which Distinct Advantage had information on. Any action on these accounts will launch an investigation. Since this started...my wife and I have had to do so much paperwork and justling around, and we are sceptical and concerned as to how Disttinct Advantage was allowed to obtain such personal secure information. These people need to be prosecuted!
We have already filed complaints with the Florida Attorney General's office as well as the Panellis County Attorney's office in the hopes leagal action will be taken to stop this once and for all. We know that there are and will be more victims of their scam.
