Tracy, as an employee of the collections department I apolgize for an employee making a mistake on your account as it directly affects YOU. Sometimes, even we make mistakes. A reage on your account or a lump sum reage (1 payment taking into account your past payments during the past two consecutive months) will bring you current on your debt. This will not necessarily bring you under your credit limit which is what the $39.00 charge may have been from. Our late fees and over limit fees are both $39.00. The computer system is not perfect either and sometimes cardholders are called when they are on a program. Both mistakes can be fixed and we can get you back on track. If you feel the situation has not been appropriately resolved call us and ask for a supervisor; you will be transferred to the resolution unit. Each collector has a different approach to collecting debt; you get the good with the bad; however, there are many employees who will give you the information for you to take control over your debt. The best solution is remaining in contact with the company.
