“Dirty” Jay Brown is currently raising money hand over fist for Democratic candidate for governor in Nevada, Steve Sisolak. “Dirty” Jay Brown has an interesting not-too-distant past. I gave “Dirty” Jay Brown that nickname because of the following story: He once was in the practice of collecting $50,000 fees (and above) for people interested in obtaining a license to sell medical marijuana in Nevada. Brown would collect the $50k, tell the people putting it up that it would be a crapshoot whether or not that $50k actually would get them a license to sell, and then pocket the money for himself. Talk about a scam! He didn’t do it to everyone, but he did it to enough people that he earned that nickname. Now, a lot of these people scraped up everything they could in every way they could to come up with the $50,000. It’s not like they were wealthy investors who could shrug off a $50k loss like it was nothing. To some of these people, that $50k represented everything they had.
You’ve heard about a PAC before, right? It’s an acronym for Political Action Committee, and they are created to raise money for candidates for public office. Well, the PAC acronym has taken on a new meaning with these guys – “Dirty” Jay Brown, Carpetbagger Steve Sisolak, and Philanderer Tony Sanchez. For them, PAC stands for Politics And Corruption! I’m mentioning this because Brown and Sanchez actually are fundraisers Sisolak (and for their own secret agenda). Make no mistake, “Dirty” Jay Brown, as he did for the marijuana license fees, is making promises to PAC donors. I wonder where that will lead?
If anyone else would have done what “Dirty” Jay Brown did to charge people $50,000 for a “chance” at obtaining a marijuana distribution license, they would have been arrested, indicted and thrown in jail. But apparently not “Dirty” Jay Brown. Too many friends in high places.
I’m not done with these guys. This is just the start of a number of posts that will highlight of problematic issues this trio has.
