I received a phone call this morning from the sheriff's department informing me I would be served with papers to go to court and gave me a number to call to take care of this matter if I did not want to be served. I called the number and was given information about a payday loan that had not been paid off from back in 2011 from this DJR Group LLC. I do not remember doing a loan of this type. Now they say I owe $972.13. I have never received a phone call or letter regarding this matter prior to being served today. I have been told that this is how these kind of companies work. Will be doing my darndest to fight the litagation.

Did you call the Sheriff's department back to make sure this was real? Scammers these days call and say they are with the sheriff's office, or the state's attoryney's office but it's all a lie. I think that would be my first phone call...to see if that is real. Because I don't believe that is how it's done. My understanding is that paperwork needs to be sent through the mail...not through e-mail or a threatening phone call.
