I currently work at DKL marketing. I have done door to door sales before so this seemed framiliar. I went to a UC and have a good education, the job market is pretty hard to crack unless you have a foot in the door, and this seemed like a good opportunity to make money on a draw. I'm currently making $12 an hour and working 6 days a week, unless I get more people to sign up with DIRECTV inside Costcos, then I'll make more money on that. I think the catch is that most people work for a week and they won't get paid because they will quit because it's hard. and this job you get a thousand rejections before you get one yes. and that's really hard for some people to deal with, for a few reasons, a lot of people would rather work smarter and not harder and here lies my reservations with this company. I think this is just a waiting game, if you stay and work in the stores they're not going to fire you, they're going to be thankful for the work you do but if you quit, all of the people you sign up in the week you do stay there will go to the person who was your tainer. I was there the day two people got promoted to assistant manager and one girl cried because she said she's been working so hard for 6 months. but apparently her paycheck is going to go from being a thousand dollars to $3000. that was said to the group of 40 people in like a decent size room. please don't take this the wrong way I still have reservations about this company it seems too good to be true. they told me today that I wouldn't get paid for 3 weeks. So I figure if I stick out those three weeks I'll make a good amount of money, if I don't stick it out these three weeks, then my trainer will get paid and I won't get my paycheck. when I apply for this position I applied for a customer service position. They began to tell me that this was customer service by helping Costco customers lower their cable bill. but in the meeting solely focus on sales, their only incentive is money and it was very off-putting with my trainer told me to call me brush of people who don't meet our requirements. my trainer told me that it was funny that I was nice to customers who didn't meet her requirements. he told me that I was losing money by not just moving on to the next person. that's cold call sales for ya.

I quit when I realized it was an MLM, a Multi-level Marketing scheme. Where the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit. This recruited sales force is referred to as the participant's "downline", and can provide multiple levels of compensation. Other terms used for MLM include pyramid selling.
They are peddling Direct TV and in the last meeting I went to, the leader of these Direct Tv pan handling fools, said that when Direct TV doen't need them any more they will sell "alarm systems or something, there will always be something to sell".
My Consensus:
Stay away, it's a last man standing kind of job. It doesn't matter if you are good at what you do, or if you are smart enough to do it, you just have to stay around longer then the next fool.
