I took my car to Dobbs because my brake light was on.  They told me that I needed front brake pads, rotors, and sensor.  They quoted me $500.00, they said the front rotors were more expensive on my car and those were the ones that needed to be replaced. 



 I said I would think about it, see where I could round up the money and I'd let them know.  I took my car to get a second opinion to JC Car care in St. Charles.  They took off the brake pads and told me that the brakes were fine, they measured the brakes in front of me because I was suprised! 



 They were perfectly fine, FAR from needing to be replaced, they were like new.  The rotors were fine too, the only thing that was wrong was the sensor was broken and the part would be $36.66. 



I had JC fix my car and I called Dobbs and asked to speak to the manager.  I told him what I had found out and he said he would talk to the mechanic that looked at my car and call me back.



He called me back and told me that the mechanic never pulled the brake pads off to look at them, he just told me I needed new front brake pads, rotors, and sensor based on the fact that the light was on.  I told him the sensor was broken!  He said that they didn't know that since they didn't look at the brakes.



I told the manager that when someone brings their car in to have their brakes looked at, they expect to have their brakes looked at and not just quoted some price so they could make a buck.  I imagine he picked the front brakes out of the blue because he told me that the front rotors were more expensive on my car than the back. ALL of the brakes still have at least 80% wear on them. They are such fraudulent liars.



The manager admitted that they made a mistake and understood why I was mad and blah blah blah, but didn't say anything beyond that.  I told him to stop ripping people off.



They also told me that the back brakes only had 40% left on them, what liars!  Why are they still in business? They rip people off around the clock, they should not be in business anymore.



I'm telling my friends and family and I want everyone to know what liars they are. How do these people sleep at night?
