Dons Steakhouse ripoff! As a former employee, I was cursed at every time I worked and even slapped in the head once. Lawrence Kansas
I was a former employee at Dons Steakhouse, and had to endure months of abusive behavior from the manager. I was cursed at every time I worked and was even slapped in the back of the head for letting a swinging door, shut too hard." She also makes employees give her tips at the end of the night when the owner is not there, which I know she doesn't claim seeing how she is on salary. I believe this is probably against some tax code.
There also was a rat infestation in this establishment, which was overlooked by the owner and manager. After quitting my job I reported the restaurant to the state health dept., and they did determine that the steak house had a definite rodent problem.
The worst treatment in my mind was the way my mother was treated when she called to inquire about these situations when I ended my employment. She was spoken to in a rude and offensive manner.
The reason I stayed with this company was because I am in college and any bit of extra money helps out. I also reported the manager's actions to the owner and nothing was done.
