While on vacation in Houston, I walked past a salon where some people were selling beauty products. I don't normally pay attention to people selling products, but a European guy standing outside the store caught my attention and started talking to me about the products. He gave me a product demonstration of some facial exfoliation gel (which he claimed contained 24 carot gold) showed me it worked by rubbing it on my hand. The gel appeared to take a nice amount of dirt of my hand, so I thought, since I've alway struggled with dirt in pores, that I would like to purchase some. The guy told me that it cost $100, but he was running a promotion that day and would sell it to me for $50. He never mentioned once that the company had a no return policy. I bought the gel and left the store to go back to my hotel room. After I was back in the room, I got a odd feel about the product I had purchased and decided to do some research online. I read some reviews that talked about how the company was a scam, and how the products they sell have caused horrible skin problems for some people. A hour later, I decided to go back to the store to return the gel. When I got there, the guy who sold me the product was no longer around. I spoke to a girl with a French accent who told me that, due to a non-return policy, I couldn't return the product and at that moment she flipped around a sign that had been turned BACKWARDS that said "all purchases are final-no refunds". I know that it was only $50, but it makes me sick to think that this company is ripping people off in this way.
