Dot Hop Internet marketing, adword campaigns. Palo Alto California
Dot Hop, an internet marketing company, called me in Feb. of 2015 and made a great offer on adword campaigns that one could not resist. At the time cost was running around 4-500.00 per month on four keywords which I felt was resonable. In May of 2016 I noticed cost started to DOUBLE per month in order to keep my keyword campaigns running. I was a bit cranky about the cost going up so much but in my business marketing is a very important aspect.
On January 13, 2017 I received a call from Dot Hop saying that one of my keywords had been depleted of funds and would I like to re-fund it, which I did with another 400.00. That evening while I was in my Google Analytics viewing REAL TIME traffic which also showed the locations of this traffic I was observing 3-5 customers in our site. All of a sudden the number of customers started climbing very rapidly all the way up to approx. 80 people in site and 98% of these "supposidly" real people were all coming from three specific locations across the US, Oregon, Illinois and New York. You could also see that these clicks were coming in on two of the keywords in my Dot Hop campaigns. It was very clear that these were not real people but a deliberate scam to use up funding in fake clicks. It all happened very fast, the clicks poured in and poured out all with in 15 minutes. You could also see in Google Analytics what pages these clicks were going to, these clicks were going to "frequently asked questions", "policies", "blog", "customer shares" and another one of the pages was my COPYRIGHT NOTICE, 6 CLICKS WERE IN MY COPYRIGHT NOTICE. Who reads the copyright?
The next morning I called my SEO and we both went into Google Analytics and we both observed this fake clickinging going on AGAIN. And again, the clicks poured in and poured out. It was the exact same scenario I had observed the night prior. Approx. 25% of my funding on ONE keyword had been depleted with in a 14 hour span. This one particular keyword had been eating up approx. 800.00 a month. I immediately called Dot Hop to tell them what both my SEO and I had observed in Google Analytics and they immediately shut my campaigns down. Their reply was that they would never do this and that they would investigate.
It took me a week and a half to get my last deposit of 400.00 back and they refused to refund any past funding. The total money I had invested in this company came to approx. 12000.00. This is a company that you CANNOT TRUST. DO NOT THIS COMPANY for your adword campaigns because they will RIP YOU OFF and they will not refund you even when they get caught red handed. Since this episode I called another company to get a FLAT RATE charge and unlimited clicks on the exact same keyword that was using up almost 800.00 a month, that charge was $25.00 a month for unlimited clicks because that particular keyword did not get a lot of searches. I gave this company a chance to make things right but they refused. DOT HOP USERS BEWARE! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
