I recently obtained health insurance after a few years of not having any. I was looking for a primary doctor, one of the first ones that came up when searching for doctors who take New Adult Medicaid Patients (a short list) and decided to call the office of Donald Baker, Caring Physicians. I thought the name of his clinic sounded nice.
I have 2 different types of scoliosis and thoracic outlet syndrome in my right shoulder(diagnosed by many other doctors), and I had been having pain in my lower abdomen that I was hoping to get an answer too. The office was small and nice, but as soon as Dr. Baker came in I knew something was wrong. He started asking me questions, while staring at the floor (he did not want to make eye contact), and every time I when to answer his question he would cute me off rudely and tell me I was wrong and why. Then he started talking to himself, telling himself he was right, and spouting out all the names of the muscles in my back. Then he said he needed to do a pelvic exam and that I just needed to wait till the nurse came back, he said she had to go to the store to get an ink cartridge for the printer! I thought is he serious? Yes he was.
So as soon as she got back from the store, he started the pelvic exam. Usually a doctor kinda tells you what they are doing or kinda talks you through it, not Dr. Baker. He felt my uterus and said there is a fibroid on here, I said "that hurts" and he just kept pushing on it, then looked up to the nurse and said "Want to feel what a fibroid feels like, come feel this" She could tell I was in pain and still rubbed right on the sore spot he had pushed out. After I left the exam I was in severe pain for five day, two days after the appointment I was in urgent care for the pain and they found out I had a simple but bad bladder infection that I had, had for a while. After taking the antibiotics I have never had pain in my abdomen again. So after the ultra sound Dr. Baker ordered, and I went to my old OBGYN, I find out nothing is on my uterus or ovaries and I am fine.
Dr. Bakers office called me a few weeks later to go over my back x rays and ask me to come in the following day. I went in and it started all over again, staring at the floor, continually asking me questions just to cut me off as rudely as he could and tell me I was wrong and why, taking to himself, and seeming plainly arrogant and irritated. He then told me nothing was wrong with my back, and to stop complaining and go home. Then he told me the Non narcotic pain reliever I have used for years is addictive and that he will not refill my prescription (a prescription he wrote for my back at the first appointment) and if all I want is pain pills then he refuses to see me and to go somewhere else. I was in shock at the rudeness and assumptions about my character. I just kind of sat there in aw thinking this has got to be a joke, this is not how doctors or people behave, this man is mentally ill. Since this experience I have found other people that have suffered from being in the office of Dr. Donald Baker. I am currently working on getting this mans licence take away from him so he can not hurt anyone else.
BEWARE OF THIS MAN AND HIS STAFF!! HE IS A DANGEROUS DOCTOR!!!
