I wasn't upset by your (Angelina)comments. Thank you for taking an interest in my situation. You mustn't be too old if your parents are only in their 60's (as I am). I hope that my children will look out for my husband and I when the need arrives.

I didn't mean to sound condescending. I have 2 parents, thank god, in great health, and very independent. They are both in their early 60's. My sister, my brothers and I still feel the need to protect them. We just are always looking out for them. We don't act like they cannot take care of themselves. They still live in the house they raised us in. We just always check in on them daily, and call them everyday. We look at it as, they took care of us and protected us while growing up. Now that they are older, we just feel the same way. I lost my grandmother 6 months ago, at the age of 101. I know how it feels to have a very eldery relative in my life. I apologize, I didn't mean to upset you. I just think in this day and age with so many scammers out to get older folks, checking his mail and bank statements would be helpful, not harmful.

You'll just have to start doing it because there are SO many people out there who are just looking to take advantage of naive, inexperienced or elderly people.

No, he did not receive any miracle or any product worthy of a $25 check. As far as monitoring his mail long before this: There never seemed to be a need for it until recently. Do you have an elderly, independent parent that can be cared for without looking like you are trying to control his life?

If you feel she is scamming your elderly father contact your local APS worker (Adult Protective service worker) They get paid to investigate these situations. Hope this helps.
