Complaint Review: Dr. Mark Barak Empire Laser Center - Pomona California

I advise anyone who wants Lasik, if the Doctor says they have abnormal pressure and PDS, which is Pigmentary dispersion syndrome, which means you will without medication to lower that pressure develop Pigmentary Glaucoma which is a form of Glaucoma in people in their early thirties and leads to permanent blindness-- 
 
My Doctor was unethical and did this to a few patients, he did not tell them that they had a serious disease when he himself was an expert and knew 100 percent what he was doing and gives a guarantee for life to fix the Lasik, not telling them, they have a more serious condition which leads to permanent blindness and must lower that pressure immediately before any operation of Lasik.   The Doctor like so many other professional rather do the unethical thing and be money hungry not caring that they are destroying lives of other people beside themselves and their families.  He took that few thousand dollars and ruined my entire life.   The Doctor did not take a visual field when he saw the pressure was abnormal in my eyes and I had PDS used a FDA Laser violating the regulations and destroyed me, as a Jeweler. I lost my drivers license for life, and for years later, my home was in foreclosure and my business was almost lost, owing so many people so much money and liens on my home.
 
At trial the Insurance company who was protecting the Doctor hired Cedar Sinai Doctors to lie I went to fake appointments, later we found out it was a violation for that law firm to use a witness which herself was sued for medical malpractice and out of the thousands attorneys and law firm, it was the identical same Attorney who represented her, now representing the Lasik Doctor who destroyed me.  In addition that insurance companies attorney got to my own Accountant to further lie to court, and my own Attorney lied to me I would go to jail for something which was not possible, but I believed him. I was disabled and under so much pressure, that when my Attorney like a Mafia member forced me to sign a document, to dismiss case with prejudice, threatening to withdraw as counsel and I would go to jail and be indicted my a Jury who was listening for two weeks to a medical malpractice which we proved there was negligence and I took $ 70,000 equity on my home to hire the best experts to proves negligence and over $ 4.5 Million in economic losses. No visual field test was taken and no medication to lower pressure was given and Lasik Doctor used a Laser on someone with abnormal pressure against all Federal regulations.  Yet I am the loser like so many others who become disabled.
 
I am a young man with a jewelry store in Beverly Hills and have gone through hell and back. One of my eyes looks deformed and I lost one eye completely and in my good eye I only have under ten degrees of eyesight left, no side vision, I have to walk with a white cane for the blind everywhere and my entire life has drastically changed and these Doctors are protected with Insurance companies and attorney that will spend a fortune whereas the victims who become disabled struggle.   Ethically, nowadays for the victims who become disabled there is no justice. Doctor and Insurances who protect them play nasty games and they could not care less if those disabled lost everything they have and are in the streets.  Nothing can be done and I just want to warn others to be careful and make the right decision to have Lasik, especially if you have abnormal pressure, that is an indication of a serious problem.
