On 11/21/11, I took my 2006 Nissan Frontier for a routinary oil change. This is my retirement car, is not used much and was in excellent condition as stated by Craig the store manager of store 3802. What happened next was the beginning of a nightmare.

The service technician apparently failed to secure the oil plug tightly causing the oil to leak and eventually ruining a clean and well kept engine. I was stranded in a road at 31 degree weather waiting for a tow truck to take it to the Nissan. The Nissan Service assessed the damages as no plug in the oil pan and a rod that went thru the oil pan. Engine replacement $10,762. Driver's first attempt to correct their screw up was to ask me to buy a plug and put oil. After 4 days my truck was towed to Driver's and then to Affordable Engines. They told me and BBB in writing that they were going to replace the engine with a new remanufactured engine. I was told by Andy Winters, the Gen.Mgr. that my truck would be ready by 12/9, then 12/14, then on 12/15 Driver's called to inform that a crankshaft was needed and that it would delay the repair another 6 days or by 12/21. Then I found evidence and obtained a statement that no remanufactured engine was being installed in my truck but rather they were rebuilding mine. An "F" rating repair shop with a bad reputation for service was rebuilding my engine. To stay in the cheapo side, they welded the oil pan instead of replacing the torn one.

They have lied to me and the BBB by stating in writing that they were doing a replacement when in fact they had knew that they were going to rebuild the engine. It's been almost a month and all Driver's has done is reimbursed me for the towing truck ($71) and have not make any attempt to provide me with a rental car despite the fact that I told them that I need my truck to move boxes from Spring to Austin,TX. I have been lied to, cheated and deceived. Do Driver's know about the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act? I worked real hard to pay off this truck so that I didn't have to make any more payments during my retirement as I will be in a fixed income. They ruined a perfect engine and my budget as a retiree. This truck will never be the same.  Rest in Peace my 2006 Nissan Frontier! Thanks Driver's. My truck and I will not go down without a good fight. let's get ready to rumble!!!!!!!
