Anthony Umina President, Dia Rey Office Manager. Experienced scam artists.

Anthony, called me to come work for his company, I went to an interview and he had a nice company, but paid under industry standards. I approached him with that and he assured me I could make a 6 digit income if I worked my tail off. Well I did, I sold over 30 roofing/siding projects in a 4 mont period, over $200,000 worth. Normal cost on jobs are 60% labor and material. 40% profit. Of that, 18% would be the salesmans.  I started the end of June 2009, worked until October 2009. I received total pay of $4400, that's about $1,200 per month. For a top producer that's an embarrassment. Dun-Rite didn't care what the employees issues were or if they had to afford a mortgage and food.  The office manager told me the jobs had not been closed out after 12 weeks.  That's her job to close them out, Dun-Rite would get their money, they would put in for the insurance claim and if it did not come in total, they would hold payment to the salesman, the office manager would not notify him that there might be an issue so he could get it resolved. This should have been done in writing.

Dun-Rite didn't want salesmen to make follow up calls on the accounts they sold, they had a foreman for that, and if he didn't know the problem or didn't know what was promised Dun-Rite would hold back paying the salesman again. I never saw a cost out on a completed job. Our pay is predicated on the profits of a job. I have asked several times to see these cost outs on my jobs and with broken promises that I would see them. I didn't trust the office manager and I wanted to see what they were paying for material, and paying for crews. They have a history of not paying, they have another employee who sold a $275,000 job, 8 months after he still had not been paid his commission. He got a draw of $500. This company is a total Rip Off. Broken Promises, false truths, delays, law suit happy.

Here's one item to be aware of with Dun-Rite to customers. They have a "Contingency Contract". This states that if you sign this contract, they would do the work for the insurance proceeds. If you get the work done by another contractor for less money, he will suit you as stated in his contract. He's the only contractor to do this. He lost his preferred status with State Farm because of it. He's in litigation with a customer at the Better Business Bureau because of it.

I own A&J Seamless Gutter we also perform work for Mr Umina and Dun Rite Construction .It is with GREAT pleasure that we have worked with Dun Rite for several years . I have found the management team of this company to be the definition of honesty and business ethics .
We are privileged to work with a company such as Dun Rite that pays their invoices in an extremely expedient manor and that treats it's subcontractors with dignity and the up most respect.
Dia Rey has always solved any problems or miscommunications in a matter of minutes . Gary Letera the Sales Manager is one of the most principled men I have every encountered. The Production staff is always on top of what needs to be done and when it needs to be done. They tend to the special needs and quirks (yes occasionally you get the difficult testy customer)  of each customer we have encountered on a personal level.
In return Dun rite expects their sub contract independent workers to represent the values espoused by their management team to do their job in a timely professional manner and in exchange fairly compensates us generously for doing so.

Judges ruling in favor of DunRite

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, August 03, 2011

On September 8, 2010, Jim Coe submitted a posting on this website regarding Dun-Rite, Mr. Umina and Ms. Rey.  In  it, Mr. Coe claimed, among other things, that Dun-Rite and its employees were scam artists, law suit happy, and that Dun-Rite did not pay its employees fairly. Dun-Rite responded to the posting by filing a lawsuit against Mr. Coe in the Summit Count of Ohio Common Pleas Court alleging defamation.  Dun-Rite also responded on this web-site that Mr. Coe's statements were untrue and that "Dun-Rite looked forward to calling Mr. Coe out on his malicious claims."

On July 27, 2011, Judge Parker in the Summit County, Ohio Common Pleas Court issued his final ruling.  Judge Parker concluded that Mr. Coe's "posting on the Rip-Off Report website constitutes actionable defamation." (A false written or oral statement that damages another's reputation).  Accordingly, Judge Parker awarded Dun-Rite $25,000 in damages against Mr. Coe.

In addition to  obtaining  damages against Mr. Coe for his false statements,  Judge Parker also ordered  Mr. Coe  "and those persons in active concert or participation with {Mr. Coe], including but not limited to, the Rip-Off Report . . .immediately remove the posting on the Rip-Off Report" and "cease and desist from making any defamatory statements regarding the Plaintiffs [Dun-Rite, Umina, Rey]."

Finally, regarding Mr. Coe's claims that he was not compensated appropriately for his work  and voluntarily quit instead of being fired, Judge Parker completely dismissed Mr. Coe's claims and found in favor of Dun-Rite.

Regarding the removal of the posting, it is true that Mr. Coe contacted Ed Magedson (founder of the Rip-Off Report) to have the posting removed in light of Judge Parker's order.  Mr. Magedson responded to Mr. Coe, that he would not speak with Mr. Coe directly, but would only correspond by e-mail.  Mr. Magedson also stated, "Be sure to let them know how ungrateful you are/ screw everyone else" and by posting on the Rip-Off Report, Mr. Coe agreed that once the report was posted, it would not be removed, even at Mr. Coe's request.  Mr. Magedson also responded by saying "there is no way we will remove this report" and "ROR is a permanent record.  Period." Instead of removing the posting that has been declared by a Court to be false, Mr. Magedson instead requires companies like Dun-Rite to pay $2,000 to the Rip-Off Report to have an arbitrator determine whether the statements are false.

Dun-Rite stands by its exceptional customer service record and is extremely disappointed that Mr. Coe's disparaging and untrue comments are permitted to remain published.   The Judge's deicison can be found on the COurt's website,  http://www.cpclerk.co.summit.oh.us/welcome.asp under case no. I will rescind my original report. I will also say that I resigned from Dun-Rite, for Dun-Rite to say they fired me is untruthful and unwarrented.

Employee that was terminated by Dun Rite

#7REBUTTAL Owner of company

Dun-Rite Construction, Inc. has been in business for over twenty-one years and has an A+ rating with our local Better Business Bureau.  For your convenience, any consumer may contact the Better Business Bureau at 330-253-4590 to verify.

Mr. Coe was hired by Dun-Rite Construction, Inc. as a commissioned sales representative.  After 4 months of employment, Mr. Coe was terminated due to his disregard of company policy, misleading customers, lying, insubordination, and neglect of duties.  Mr. Coe now complains about his lack of earnings.  But his earnings were a direct result of his performance on the job.  His complaints, as reflected in his posting to the Ripoff Report, are nothing more than an effort to defame Dun-Rite, Mr. Umina and Ms. Ray.

As a result of Mr. Coe's conduct, Dun-Rite Construction has been forced to file a lawsuit against him in the Summit County Court of Common Pleas and looks forward to calling Mr. Coe out on his malicious claims.
