E-Credit Solutions-Apprvd Card ripoff scam
Hi, I'm 18 yrs old and was looking to establish credit. I got a postcard in the mail from these people saying that I had been approved for a credit card with a limit of $4,000.
At the time, I thought this was a good idea, but was somewhat sceptical as well. The rep told me that there would be a 1x membership fee of $199.95. Because I didn't have any credit, I went ahead and did it as she ASSURED ME THAT IT WAS REFUNDABLE.
The funny thing about it, there was never a confirm #;this made me think twice.The next day, I called the "customer service #", and it was out of service.
Then when I called the orginal #, a different rep who I spoke with was unpleasant and unsure about the money being refundable. So, I got on the internet to see if there really is a legit company called E-Credit Solutions and found out it was a scam. I called my bank immediatly and put a stop payment on the check. Even though my bank will charge me $21 to stop the paymt, it's a lot less thatn $199.95.
