EBay supports fraud, no phone number, fraudulent company, deceitful, cares ONLY about their interests, not their customers! San Jose California
Three weeks ago, my eBay account was hacked into. Along with my PayPal account, and my gmail account.
Gmail was less than helpful with all of this, but that was another story.
PayPal was great and took care of everything immediately.
However, eBay, is still allowing this fraud to continue.
Now before anyone starts preaching, I have done the computer cleanup, password changes, everything. That is all taken care of. What has NOT been taken care of is eBay's end of things that the matter would be cleared up.
I logged onto their "Live Help" chat program, since they DON'T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT THEM AT, and waited for nearly a half hour, before "Rob" logged on. Rob did call me to verify who I was, but the phone number, couldn't be returned that he called me from.
To make a very long story short, after talking with Rob, and another guy for nearly an hour, they assured me that all the fraudulent bids that had been placed on my account were taken care of, and that I wouldn't have any more problems. They didn't close my account as I requested at the time, and I thought I was in the clear.
On Valentine's day, I got a nasty email from one of the sellers of the fraudulent bids, asking where is $900 was for a phone worth about $25.00. I informed him that I not only didn't speak his language, but that I did not make those bid and that eBay took care of everything. He then filed an unpaid item dispute against me! This is now open on my account. ( I also want to point out that I don't even speak this guy's language, let alone come from that country he's in. How could I possibly have bid on something from someone that I couldn't even read the ad?!)
Now for the past five days I have been in a runaround bullshit hassle game with eBay. I have tried logging into "Live Chat" but they claim there IS no open dispute claim on my account. They also refuse to close my account to prevent this from happening again. I spent three hours on Thursday evening with a girl, who claimed that this was all my fault, I allowed hackers access to my machine, and that eBay could and would not be held reliable for fraud. Even though eBay obviously has such lax security that fraud is becoming extremely rampant on their website. (I am very saavy, about making sure everything is up to date, and passwords are cleared, anti-virus software up to date, etc...)
One only needs to do a google of "ebay and fraud" to see that this is a regular and common occurrance from eBay. They are so concerned with their next big buck, that they are letting customer service, AND security slide completely, and are not protecting, good productive members of their website.
I have now been waiting another half hour to speak to a rep via live chat again, so that I can attempt again at getting this matter cleared up.I have also sent a very nasty and profanity laced email to their fraud department as they are sending me bulk emails about absolutely nothing relating to my problem.
Beware if you have an eBay account. The next strike may come against YOU!
