I bought a car camera from a Chinese seller who uses ebay (he was running an ebay auction). The seller sent the camera to my address in Arab Emirates but he made a mistake in that address which was his fault and it was returned back to him. I gave him another address but he started making false promises about a new shipment and eventually never delivered. Time was lost waiting for his alleged delivery.

When I tried to open a case I was told that ebay doesn't honor claims after 45 days. This 45 days limit is self imposed to support irregular sellers against customers. ebay can easily force the seller to correct the situation but they didnt  want to do so.

Their behavior has been indicative of intentional avoidance of the settlement due to the following facts; a) They pretended that their customer's service email is no-reply and wont be read and wanted me to call them on the phone to provide verbal statements and avoid written ones but when I replied and threatened to complain they responded from the same email that they said they dont read. b) They removed all traces of the transaction with that seller from their site so it couldn't be verified and I couldn't provide feedback about that seller. All this tells me that this company adopts fraud as a regular.

The service paypal is an ebay company and has the same rule. Paypal charges outrageous rates for money transfer and foreign exchange transactions and it is better be avoided.

I learned to avoid ebay and paypal and stop doing business with them completely. A good alternative is (((competitor's name redacted))) where I had a similar situation and they compelled the seller to refund my money is 5 minutes. It is a great alternative.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. In this case we removed an alleged competitors name
