What a scam! This company attempted to take $159.95 from my checking account. When I noticed the entry in my account, it stated "check presented". Since I write such few checks, this was suspicious, so I immediately called my bank. Initially, I was told there was nothing they could do since they did not have a check number and they could not see who the perpetrator was. This was not good enough, so I insisted on speaking with a supervisor. I told her that I suspected fraud, and they had a duty and obligation to do something about it. Because of my insistence, she marked it as "suspect" and immediately stopped payment on it. I had to pay the fee of $30, but that was better than the $159.95.
I have since located the company as "EDP Card". Their website was immediately a red flag, since it had no address, no nothing. Their live chat comes back with "no rep available", and when you call, even their recordings pre-empt their attempts to clear themselves by saying, "if you are calling about an order YOU AUTHORIZED, blah, blah", and then they say, "you will be instructed to send an email if we are too busy", and naturally, THEY WERE. Six attempts to call, and no one ever gets on the phone.
I have contacted the FTC, the PA State Police, informed my bank, filed an Attorney General Complaint, and I will not stop until these ripoff thieves are put out of business!
