Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was looking for a summer job after just getting out of college for the summer. I came accross an ad in the newspaper that said full and part time positions were available at earnings of $450 to $650 to start. The ad said NOTHING about the job itslef. I figured I'd call them up to see what it was all about.

Upon calling them, I spoke to a receptionist who couln't tell me anything about the job. All she said was "we're having an open house interview tomorrow at four o'clock." So I gave her my name and told her I'd be there.

When I got to the office the next day, the receptionist gave me an application to fill out that was not even a page long. I then asked her again if she could tell me any more details about the job. Again, she couldn't tell me at thing. The application gave no clue as to what the job was all about either.

Myslef and the seven other people who where there were called in to talk to a manager who had absolutely NO interviewing skills whatsoever. He asked me four questions and told me that I'd be perfect for the job. I was then sent out to the "waiting room."

Now, apparently the Regional Vice Presendent and someone else were on thier way to make a presentation and to make further interviews. Well, they were scheduled to be there at 4:00, but didn't show until well after 5:00. When the two men finally arrived, they put on this presentation that lasted about 40 minutes about their product, which is a vacum cleaner. (Whether or not this is a good product I can't say.) The Vice President then called on people individually for a second interview.

So in the room was myslef, the VP and the manager I had talked to before. At this point I knew that this whole thing was a scam. They never told me EXACTLY what the job was. They were totally unprofessional up to this point. They also completely avoided the question when I asked how much money I'd be making and if it was all commission based. Anyway, while in the room with the two other men, they were trying to butter me up saying, "Ben, I had good vibes about you the minute I walked into the door." "I like you, Ben." "You're perfect for this job."

The VP took a wad of $20 bills out of his pocked and counted them in front of me saying, "This could be you, Ben. If you work for us, your pockets will just fill up with cash." He then offered me $100 for every person I bring in by Monday, but I had to question him further to find out that I only get the $100 if the person I bring in makes a sale, which means that if I bring a friend in, he'll have to go through the same routine I just went through. He also said that I'll get $100 for ever sale I make by Monday on top of what I would be gettng already.

Now, he's telling me all this, but he also said that there's still another step of the interviewing process. I need to go tomorrow morning to a house and learn how to make the sales pitch. I told them I'd be there at 8:15.

I came home and told a friend about this whole experience and he said that he had worked for them a few years ago and went through the same kind of stuff. He quit weeks later after realizign the whole thing was a complete scam.

So, I was afraid that I'd have to wake up ealry tomorrow, but I guess not. Looks like someone will be a no-show tomorrow morning. They wasted two and a half hours of my time, so I'll play the same game back to them. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY AERUS ELECTROLUX! All they will do is attempt to scam you, waste your time, brainwash you, and lie to you. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM! It sounds like good money, especially for a college student like myslef, but remember: If it's too good to be true, THEN IT IS!!

Not true for entire company.

As someone who started with this company in September of 2002 in the same position you would be starting in, I think your report is not a true representation of our entire corporation. While this particular office has their way of bringing people into the business, not everyone does business this way. I have moved up to the Branch Manager position and am proud of my achievements with this company and the products I represent. When I do interviews with potential new Manager Trainees I make sure to stress that if they are a person who is looking for "a get rich quick scheme," that I cannot help them. I also stress that we are looking for applicants who are self starters with a strong work ethic. The position requires hard work, while you do have to dig ditches you do need to actually work. For additional information or to apply for a position with a company that will treat you with respect and promote you strictly off of how hard you work not who you know see www.Aerusonline.com, or visit your local Branch
