Empire State Building A Low Point in our New York Adventure New York City, New York
In the film Sleepless in Seattle Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan got on an elevator and were instantly carried to the observation deck of the Empire State building. In our reality we were made to feel like prisoners being processed into San Quentin.
It was easy enough to pay the entrance fee and get on the elevator but then we were let off into a large space with a mob of people. We were forced to stand in a very slow moving line to have our portraits taken in front of a fake New York skyline. We didn't want to do that but had no way out. This is when we found out that to go to the very top level we could purchase a "special" ticket.
We were foolish to think that we could walk in, buy a ticket , get on an elevator to the Observation Deck, walk around for fifteen minutes and then go to the Ballet. After spending 45 minutes trying to get to the top and not knowing how much longer it would take we ran out of time and had to leave.
What was suppose to be a high point on our trip to NY turned out to be a real nightmare.
To make matters worse the shysters who ran this scam refused to give us a refund!
New York City should be ashamed of this poorly run concession!
