The above comment is a spammer and the link to the timeshare scam site should be avoided. This company has a horrible rep onm the web and spams evrywhere there is an article on timeshare. In fact moist of this page is crap. Here is an article on the scammer above.

I signed a contract about 3 yrs ago when Encanto El Faro was first built. I did stay there twice, although booking was always extremely stressful and had to struggle with them to get anywhere, including threatening not to pay the balance of my contract. (I paid 50% upfront and then made payments on the rest). Well, now that I am paid in full I am getting the run around and can't even find out if there are any available weeks during the time I am requesting or not, nevermind finding an alternate time/location. It has been 2 months with a couple of meaningless responses and absolutely no progress towards booking something. I am afraid my worst fear is coming true. They took forever to finish their 1 bedroom units and I worry that this is due to financial stress. I am very curious to know if they are going bankrupt. If they are still trying to sell "timeshares" at this site this is just awful as most units are owned by invidividuals and if they don't want to rent out their spot they don't have to, so what is left? I have met a couple of very nice people there and really enjoyed staying there, but I fear the ones who are truly in control (and who really knows who that is??) are really just con artists double and triple selling beyond their capacity, while the true unit owners look the other way. This will be one bad "life lesson" for sure because I can't see how I would have any real recourse other than making a "complaint", but will I actually see anything from it? Doubt it. Approx $12,000 down the drain, and that was one of the cheaper options, if I am not the only one going through this then people will be out a lot more money than that.
Bottom line, do not give these group any of your money at all.

I have had the same problems with Encanto at ElFaro in Playa. Last November I bought 4 weeks of a 3 bedroom and never received any information packages . when I called Lucy paredas , she kept putting me off and then started avoiding my calls . I was supposed to have an interval account paid for by Encanto for two years, they never made the payment. I have been trying to get this resolved for 6 months and still cannot get Lucy, Jay, Luis, or Jose to call me back or resolve anything. when I do get them on the phone they make an excuse that they will have the information later that week, and will call me back, buit never do and never answer emails.
I have not tried to reserve a condo yet, but I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had any luck getting their interval membership in place, or getting a condo reserved and actually used it successfully, or if anyone else has called global marketing connections to "rent " your weeks out, which is a guarantee that Encanto promises, but give you no information on how ot use it, and do not tell you that you have to pay another $700 fee to GMC for them to start your membership.
If anyone has any information on these things please let me know call trent (((phone number redacted)))

Could you achieve anything working with profeco? I was scammed in Playa del Carmen by Royal Elite, we tried to cancel during the 5-day rescision oeriod but we haven't got any answer. This is actually a forum with more complaints made to this resort: Royal Elite Timeshare Complaints, but there are not many suggestions on what we can do now, any advice?

Ken, we also purchased a month on the 3bedroom. We are told via email that we have reservations for this summer. Lucy is dodging us on the interval contract and won't return calls or emails. We are seriously concerned in purchasing airfare just to find out we have been had. Party of 6 for a vacation just prior to our son leaving for boot camp. Very unsettling.

I am currently in the same situation as Ken. I purchased at the beginning of March and rescinded within 5 working days. Still have money on credit card that has not been returned to me. Have made several attempts to contact Encanto and have not been able to reach anyone. I have received emails with bogus phone numbers to contact them.
If anyone else has experienced this situation and knows how to successfully resolve it, I would appreciate your comments.

I have to agree with Ken. We purchased in Nov of last year. It seems that we may have been ripped off by a salesman named jay and a closing agent named lucy. Having nothing but problems trying to book our first vacation to OUR own condo. These people are slippery at best, out right thieves is what I am thinking.
