Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I hired Eric in July of 2014 thru a recommendation to work on a project for a client on a custom real estate company word press site.  Eric was provided all the details of the project before a contract was provided to the client and he indicated it would be no problem and could be done on the time line specified in the agreement.

From the beginning, Eric was consistently way behind on the delivery dates when in October (several months into the project and passed the contract timeline) he admitted that he didn't look into things properly and that he was not capable of delivering on a major aspect of the site build.  This lead to a major conflict with the client which I resulted in a full refund of their fees $3500 & a very negative relationship with the client and cost us a lot of future revenue/sales in that area.

Eric begged me to allow him to make up for his error on that project and assured me it wouldn't happen again if I allowed him to work on the next project which were 3 similar site builds for realtor associations.  Again he was provided a fill spec including time lines of full delivery by November 30th that he provided input and signed off on before contracts were sent to the clients.

Again the pattern of Eric falling considerably behind started happening again.  And he began proving little or poor communication and wouldrefuse to answer questions or provide me updates on things increased.  On December 27th I had a call with him in which he assured me that the 3 sites would be completed by January 9th.  When that deadline passed for the next month he again would refuse to answer questions or provide me updates. Then on February 10th after me informing him that I could not allow any more extensions and that I would have to ask him to do the professional thing, take him off the project and bring someone else in to finish.

He replied in writing admitting that he knew he was way behind and letting me down and was very frustrated by his lack of progress.  So I replied saying then let's discuss you turning over the projects.  He replied the next day stating that he had a major breakthrough and begged me again to let him finish the projects.  I indicated I would only do this is he promised delivery by the end of the month and provided me continuous communication and updates.

That lasted about 3 days and then he went right back to not responding or providing me communication or updates and started getting very unprofessional and flippant in his responses.  Then on 2/18 one of the 3 clients indicated that even though we were not even close to being done they wanted to put our site live as they were having a lot of issues with their prior Web host.  I informed Eric of this and asked him for the DNS server info and he acted like he would provide it but then wouldn't send it knowing that I was leaving for a cruise out of the country the next day.  I asked him multiple times that day and then multiple times while on the cruise (paying exorbitant rates to do so) and he continued to not provide the DNS info until I returned from the cruise and threatened him with legal action the following Thursday.  So he purposely delayed the launch of the site for 8 days knowing the customer wanted to go live the entire time.

This made it clear that he was purposely trying to sabotage things, so I told him that I wanted him off of the projects and to turn over all assets related to them immediately.  At this point he started playing games where he would say he would do it and then not deliver.  This was going on for several weeks.  When I finally had a phone call with him regarding this he fully admitted to purposely not cooperating and withholding all the sites files because he wanted me to suffer (Note despite all of the unprofessional things Eric did over this time period I never raised my voice, called him any names or treated him unprofessionally) because he felt I was a jerk for pulling him off of the projects even though he was over 100 days past due and was not even close to completion (& had already botched the first project).

It took almost a month to get him to finally agree to send over the site files and when he did they were incomplete (including missing database files that were vital to the performance of the site) and he refused to provide any guidance or documentation.

So when I hired another team of programmers to take over it cost us several more weeks trying to figure out how to reconstruct his versions of the site and once we did get them restored it was pretty obvious that they were not done properly (database pages were running manually and not automated as the  contract specified), were a mess and it was also apparent that Eric had outsourced the majority of the project (as there multiple logins and notes within the code for Asian users that are not a part of his team).  Our guess is that once his outsourcers were unable to deliver on the project he had no ability to do it himself and decided to pull everything detailed above.

This caused us to have to rebuild most of the 3 sites associated with this project from scratch (which caused us a few more months of production time and several more thousand dollars in costs).

I offered Eric to provide us a refund of what he was paid and we would not proceed with letting the world know about him with posts like this and he asked for 1 week to look into things.  When that week passed he replied saying I apologize I have a response/proposal to send over to you which I will do as soon as I can and then of course didn't as his games continue.

So stay away from Eric E Armas of ericearmas.con & Woven Digital unless you want to deal with a completely unprofessional person who is incapable of delivering on anything he tells you he can do and once he realizes he can't deliver will play games and squat/hold you hostage.  He has already cost me thousands of dollars and mounting so I hope this helps save anyone else from ever thinking of hiring or working with him.
