Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We have a small business that has carpeting.

You don't want your carpeting to get trashed by office chairs, Ok! We don't either. So we have for years been buying the plastic floor mats to put under them (This constitutes "normal use"). It seems that no matter how much you pay for them they typically crack up to what they are not supposed to be.

Most of them crack within the first nine months, the more expensive ones a little longer.

I am in Costco one day and I see these nice looking clear plastic chairmats at a great price, about 17 buck a apiece. But wait, they have a LIFETIME guarantee, this sounds too good to be true. I buy them anyway. They work nice and hold up as good as any of them, but they did crack. Now the too good to be true parts comes in play.

I go to the website on the stickers I SAVED!

I see the part on their website that says.

"E S Robbins chair mats feature many patented innovations that make our heavy duty chair mat products a world leader in clarity standards. Our chair mats are protected by our No Crack guarantee and are designed for both hardwood and carpet applications. We are the industry leader in custom chair mat manufacturing."

Which does not tell me how to get them replaced for free.

I call them and speak to a nice lady who tells me that they will be replaced for free for a $20.00 handling fee.

I tell them that it seems funny that the free replacement will cost more than the original. She says she's sorry but they just had to implement this new policy. I asked to speak to someone else, I spoke to a man and he said the same thing and would not really say anything else.

They do have pretty good mats comparatively but their claim of "NO CRACK MAT "registered trademark"

LIFETIME GUARANTEE Our chairmats will not crack under normal use"

Is definitely Cracked up to what its not supposed to be!

Its companies like this that make things sound better than they are. How about getting rid of the "lifetime warranty" and being honest with people. It will crack, it does crack, and you will need to buy another one in the future. If it really does not EVER crack, then stand behind your amazing product and replace it FOR FREE.
