Eva Howard Transunion took 29.95 from my account immediately when the wording led you to believe that you had a 7 day "free trial" period. When you call they said due to upgrading the cost was immediate. There w Plymouth, Indiana
In my understanding, according to the Federal Trade Commission site the only authorized free credit report site is annualcreditreport.com. I was directed to a Transunion site from this site. I proceeded to attempt to get the credit report. It stated a 7 day free trial, "some free report' - I have had to do this prior with other offers so got pen ready to be sure to take down all the requirements to cancel within the stipulated period of time. After seeing that it only included one bureau and not even a rating I agreed to the upgrade - I was given two order numbers which concerned me.
I called the very next day to cancel and received a cancellation number. Later that same day I was balancing my checking account and found the $29.95 already had been withdrawn from my account!!
Even though I called within 24 hours to cancel! I was told that when I upgraded I no longer had the option of the free for 7 days!! I saw NOWHERE where this was noted. It certainly was NOT made clear and I was told that it was a valid charge and therefore would not be refunded!!!
It is criminal that these organizations make a living from selling information about us and we have to pay to get this same information and on top of that we are led into SCAMS by said organizations putting themselves in the high and mighty place of wielding our life line credit ratings!!! What a joke this has become!!!
