The truth is that by Federal Law each person is entitled to one free credit report from each of the 3 credit agencies, Transunion, Experian, and Equifax. Just go to annualcreditreport.com and this will act as a portal to the agencies. You can view this report or print it, but it will not update. The report does not include the credit score, this you must purchase but it costs about 8.00 per score. Be careful as some of the credit companies will have a page come up to sign you up for some worthless program, just skip it. Do not give out your credit card number this is really free, I just did it. Those other offers on the web are just a Ripoff.

I have good news. I got my bank to reverse the transaction. I told them I wanted to sign an affadavit for fraudulent activity in my account, and that under Federal Regulation E, I wanted to file a dispute. The manager then told me that they (the bank) would file a dispute, and that they would reverse the charges. So the Bank will take the loss. I had to call CIC while at the bank in front of the manager to get a confirmation number. The woman on the phone would not give me one, but wanted me to give her my social security number. I refused to do that. She wanted me to give the debit card number. At first I refused to do this, but the manager told me it was of no use to them now, as I had cancelled the card, so I followed her advise and gave them the number. I had to cancel my debit card, close my account, and open up a new one. I had to go home, get the confirmation number from the email, go back the next day so that the manager could call the dispute department and give them the confirmation number. These people at experian are Scum! These people at CIC/Experian/FreeCreditReport/Cretit Manager Credit Experts, CIC Triple Advantage, consumerinfo.com are all one in the same: They are owned by experian. They would not cancel my "credit monitoring" and when I finally got them to do it, they said it would be effective Dec. 19. My 30 day "free" trial is over Dec. 18. they sent me an email saying that they will not charge me any more. So the bank is still out the money, and these people are still making money. I have notified the local news, and the person who does stories about consumers being ripped off is interest in doing this story, as her husband got ripped off by them! I would love to see these people exposed. I will keep you posted. Thanks to Rip-off Reports, I was able to win!

I just called the 800 number for Chase Bank. (877-226-5663)I talked with a woman named Jessica, who, instead of refunding my money, refused to look up this web site, or listen to the fact that I had been charged $92.57 for an unauthorized debt. I told her that I had been advised to call the Illinois Dept. of Financial Institutions. She said that she had to follow a procedure, and got the "merchant" on the phone.
The merchant, a man named Jeff, worked for CIC, which is owned by Experian, told me that while the credit report was "free" I had upgraded my membership, which I never had to begin with. I insisted that the bank take the loss, the woman from Chase Bank said they could not do that, only if CIC gave me a refund. I told this woman that she did have to give me a refund in accordance with Federal Regulation E.
This Jessica told me that she would mail me a copy of Federal regulation E form, but that if CIC did not agree to refund the money, that the bank would not do so.
So, now, the problem is Chase Bank, CIC, and Experian. Yesterday I did not know that CIC was owned by Experian, I thought it was just Experian that was the problem
It seems to me that as long as people will put up with this nonsense, it will continue. I tried to do something about it, but did not succeed. So for me, now it's just not about money. Since I posted this yesterday, I have reported Experian to the FTC, the Better Business Bureau in Texas, have called the Attorney General's Office in my state and requested that they send me a complaint form. And I would certainly be interested in a Class Action Lawsuit. So if anyone else is interested in doing something, let me know.

The problem is that I did see the $19.95 right before I saw my report. I had to give them my debit card number. I would have been willing to pay $19.95 and let it go at that, but not $92.57.
Since I gave them my debit card number (thinking that it was 30 free trial and this could be returned) does that mean I authorized them to continue to take out money from my checking account?
