This place engages in PREDATORY TOWING practices. They have no regard for the law. I came upon them in the process of towing my vehicle from in front of my house. They are required by the CA vehicle code to drop the vehicle immediately if interrupted by the vehicle owner unless they vehicle has already been removed from the private property and is traveling on a public road. This was right in front of my house where the truck was parked and I told them that i was the owner. They rolled up their window and sped off without even securing the axles with chains.
The security company they were contracted with (Patrol Masters) had them creep up with their lights off and quietly lift my truck onto their trailer after it had only been on the street for 30 mins after being repaired in my garage. It isn't the tow company's responsibility to verify this kind of information, but they don't have to work with companies that engage in wrongful towing of residents' vehicles from their own HOA's common property.
I am going after them the 4 times the towing fee plus the full depreciated value of my property (in accordance with the property conversion tort in California law). If this happens to you, go to suetowtrucks.com for their small claims legal kit and lots of free information.

I found your problem. "The security company they were contracted with (Patrol Masters) had them creep up with their lights off and quietly lift my truck onto their trailer after it had only been on the street for 30 mins after being repaired in my garage. " Private Property, HOA. You had 30 minutes to move the vehicle. You could have been parked 3 seconds and been towed.
"but they don't have to work with companies that engage in wrongful towing of residents' vehicles from their own HOA's common property."
There is nothing wrongful about this situation. You agreed to the HOA terms and conditions.
