On July 2013 - After seraching for a "reputable" Mexican Travertine Tile Exporter Provider, we made contact with Fabricacion Industrial del Marmol, S.A. de C.V. (FIMSA) and talked several times with Mr. Felipe Pamanes, manager of such company.
He understood our product needs- travertine floor tiles and moldings-. Price was perfect for our customer needs here in the U.S.A. (El Paso, TX). So we placed an order for such products.
On July 27th. 2013 they issued us an invoice # 00201 for $3.410.50 dlls. They requested 50% down. So we made a cash deposit into their mexican bank for $1,705.25 dlls. They requested that the deposit must be made in cash (mexican pesos).
After 2/3 weeks they called us and inform us that the whole order was ready to be send to us.But they told us that the other 50% ($1,705.25 dlls.) had to be deposit into their bank account. So we did deposit such amount. After they verified that such amount was deposited, they gave us the tracking #.
We crossed the border and picked up the product at Ciudad Juarez, Chih, Mexico (just one mile south of El Paso, TX). After paying custom brokers fees, the product was in our warehouse in the U.S.
We opened the crates and......BANG....all the travertine floor tiles were wrong !!! Wrong colors, wrong sizes, wrong finish, broken tiles, absolutley trash. We couldn't belive it. And our client went crazy. Her house need it those tiles ASAP.
Those travertine tiles were impossible to use. So we contacted the General Manager of Fabricacion Industrial del Marmol (FIMSA) , Mr. Felipe Pamanes, and he said: "we won't replace them" "we won't give you a dollar back" "it's your loss", "do whatever you want" "I don't care"... and he hang up on us.
He was so rude and unpolite. He just didn't care at all.
We try several times to reach him by phone and by e-mails. No answer at all.
What we did? : we bought the travertine floor tiles to a U.S. company. Of course were more expensive ($4,800.00 dlls), but we need it to fulfiil our customer's needs. (travertine tiles for her new house). And like always , our client was very satisfied with the end result.
Upon request, we can provide photos of such travertine floor tiles, and more information.
We are posting this ripoff - fraud- so no company, business or person, has to go through this terrible situation and lose money.

PS. We try to report this fraud to a government Mexican authority/agency , but it is impossible. Lots of red tape. They don't care.
