Family Heritage offered training to sell their insurance products at their Cleveland office. They paid transportation and lodging. I paid for food and other expenses. The regional manager nor the people at the home office ever informed me in any way that they would demand repayment for the expenses they paid if I did not sell enough of their policies. The agents account is turned over to collection. Their sales scheme is to go door-to-door to sell their policies to pay the subscriber for hospital stays due to accident, cardiac problems and cancer.

i too am a former employee of the company. they did the same mess to me too. i have come up with a settlement with the regional manager i was with, Keith Cooper. Keith is a great guy and i have nothing against him. but anyway, he sent me a bill for the hotel stay and all that. i made an agreement to pay X ammount each month just so i can aviod collections that will ruin my good credit score. i am engaged and hoping to get into a house as soon as we get married and i don't want a collections of only $650 or so to ruin my chances of getting into a home my future family needs. on a lighter note, i do believe they have great policies that help families in their time of need. i do want a policy for my family one of these days. i'm just not fond of their advertising methods and sales methods. i did not like the door to door sales. many cities have ordinances against anyone going door to door selling anything as they are considered solicitors. i talked with Keith a few times over the phone during the month i worked selling policies and tried to assure me i was not a solicitor. i kind of felt bad for the home owners because i knew i would be a nuisance to most people. and since Family Heritage does not do any advertising at all, it makes the agents' job a lot tougher. most companies try to do everything they can to make a sales agent's job a little easier so they don't litterally get the door slammed their face which was the case 90% of the time
