On February 4th, 2017 I entered the Ferman Chrysler Dodge Dealership meeting with Ken Gilliam, Internet Manager  inquiring on the purchase of a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 they had for sale on the used car lot.  I proceeded to test drive the vehicle finding a check engine light on during this drive.  There were two trouble codes one for an air bag and the other for a low line pressure for the transmission.  Before any paperwork was to be completed and a loan processed, Ken Gilliam assured me all repairs would be completed before final purchase of their vehicle and the tradein of my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500.  I have all these communications from February 4th on for this communication process.  I was informed on February 4th by Ken that trouble code for the low transmission pressure was due to a bad sensor on the transmission.  Later that same day Ken sent me a text stating the sensor replacement didnt fix the trouble code on their Dodge Ram 3500 but the sensor was replaced by them.  Per the computer logs of the vehicle on March 28th, the sensor was never replaced by Ferman, verified by Jim Brown Chrysler Dodge dealership on March 28th.  The sensor was actually replaced a couple months before for the same concerns at a Chrysler Dodge dealership in Orlando Florida under an extended warranty.  This was the first deceptive lie of fraud that Ferman expressed to me as a consumer.  Ferman had to be aware of this replacement and Jim Brown Dodge pointed it out to me in 5 minutes.  On February 11th, 2017 I was informed by Ken Gilliam, Ferman Dodge Chrysler that the 2013 Dodge Ram was fixed and ready for delivery.  I proceeded to the dealership where I traded my 2012 Dodge Ram on the truck at Fermans taking delivery.  I asked multiple times if everything was repaired and was assured it was, no check engine lights were on.  Immediatly after I took delivery of the vehicle from Ferman I had problems with the transmission slipping, faulty shifting blowing transmission fluid out of the transmission tube.  I immediatly contacted the Ferman dealership informing them of the issues with the vehicle they assured me was repaired but wasnt.  Ken informed me I had the option to bring the truck back and get my old truck back since it was not sold, purchase another truck or they would give me a goodwill check of $1100 to fix the transmission.  I took the truck for multiple opinions, one at AAMCO Transmission, Dayton Andrews Dodge, Courtsey Brandon Dodge, Jim Brown Chrysler Dodge and USA Transmissions.  Everyone of these businesses confirmed the truck I purchased from Ferman had a defective transmission after they performed their diagnostics.  The quote to fix and replace this transmission ranges from $4500 to $5000 and I supplied these quotes to Ferman where I bought the truck.  I asked for my truck back from Ferman being informed they sold my truck when they told me I could have it back.  Not wanting to buy another truck and get approved again, I asked them to fix it or buy the truck back.  They wouldnt buy it back, and offered me $1100 goodwill to have it fixed somewhere else.  They then offered me $1500 goodwill money only if I signed a release of all claims to them and have it repaired somewhere else, which I did.  They offered to look at it again I dropped it off 2 weeks later nothing done.  I delivered to Jim Brown today to have the transmission replaced for $5000.  This is fraud, they didnt repair the vehicle before purchase and sold it to me knowing it was defective.

This is fraud, non disclosure and refusal to repair correctly.  I purchased this vehicle with intent of a vehicle of operation that is reliable.  This transmission that the dealership was aware to be defective sold the vehicle to me with no intent to repair.  If they were not guilty of their actions then why wouldn't they repair the vehicle at no cost but instead offer me $1500 goodwill payment at the release of all claims toward them.  They should pay for the full repair of this transmission in the amount of $5000 not $1500.  I purchased the vehicle being informed it was fixed but instead Ferman just unloaded it and all the headaches on me.  They need to pay for the transmission in the amount of $5000.  I was deceived and had no intent of buying a defective vehicle in need of repair.  They informed me it was repaired but was not.

My temp tag expired and I requested another only to be blown off by this dealership and my registration expiring.    I finally received my registration but was not legal by registration at one point because this dealership didn't issue me another temp tag.  The new registration is dated 3/21/2017 but I was not notified until the second week in April by the dealership that is was ready.  Something else that should be looked into with regard to business practices with Ferman Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Lutz Florida.

Thank you,

This is a fraudulent dealership. This issue has not been resolved. The Florida Attorney General contacted me and is investigating them from other previous complaints by other consumers. The Department of Highway Safety as well as other agencies are also investigating them. If your a smart consumer take your business elsewhere. Jim Brown Chrysler Jeep Tampa is a better choice. Stay away from Ferman Dealerships in Tampa area.

Ferman is a Ripoff stay away people other dealers out there.

Ferman committed fraud and non disclosure for this vehicle purchase. There was a check engine light on when I looked at this vehicle and Ferman assured me this would be repaired before taking delivery. The check engine light was for low line pressure to the transmission from the first diagnostics of Ferman stating it was resolved by replacing a sensor. Upon taking delivery it was not resolved and I returned the truck to Ferman for resolution again. The truck sat there for 2 weeks and nothing was done to it to resolve the issue. I threatened them legally and stated I would reach out to all agencies with regard to this. They informed me I could have my old truck back but then sold it from underneath me. I spoke with multiple transmission shops and dealers getting quotes all telling me the transmission was bad. Jim Brown Chrysler Dodge looked at the truck and logs on the computer stating Ferman never replaced the sensor as it was done at a dealership in Orlando so they lied about this as well. Jim Brown also stated the transmission was bad and they are the ones that fixed it. Ferman committed fraud selling me a vehicle they new was defective, not disclosing the issues they new the truck had and then refusing to fix the problem they said they would and did before taking delivery. Before final pickup of the truck they refused to fix they gave me a repair order stating what was wrong with the truck funny how that happens. Then they offer me a goodwill check to fix the transmission in the amount of $1500, I guess they new it was bad. Finally they make me sign a release of all claims to at least receive a check of $1500 to fix a vehicle I bought from them so I had wheels. Its not like I could wait on this. If they were not guilty of fraud and non disclosure why would they even consider a goodwill check and push to have a release of a claims signed? Guilty for sure. I had full intent of keeping this truck when I purchased it assuming is was fixed. I purchased new tires, bed cover, mud flaps and a tailgate they didn't have on the truck either. Then I find out they sell me a truck with a bad transmission. Receipts are attached here and I have others for purchases. Ferman needs to pay the additional amount on this transmission. This is unheard of that dealers like this can do this. Other people need to know to stay away from Ferman and I will do whatever it takes to make that known. I have purchased many vehicles in my life and never had this problem before. Jim Brown Chrysler Dodge confirmed Ferman never completed repairs they said they did and I as a consumer now pay for it. Take responsibility Ferman!!!!!!

As for the other rebuttal comment here, let me just say you have no idea what your talking about or the situation as a whole.  Dont make comments when you have no clue.  No clue..........

If this dealer did rip you off, you let them do it to you and that flashing sign above your head telling them you were an easy mark didn't help.

First off the Check Engine Light was on DURING the Test Drive. That would make most people run for the hills regardless of what the dealer stated they would do.  You said that you were "assured" that all repairs would be completed. So how was this assurance made? Did they put it in writing? If so what specifically did it say they would fix?

They then offered me $1500 goodwill money only if I signed a release of all claims to them and have it repaired somewhere else, which I did.

- So now if I read this correctly you now have just let them off the hook for a $5000 repair by accepting $1500 "goodwill" money? Let me guess you had no idea what the repair would cost right? Where if this is what you did this was probably the bonehead move of the Centrury.

I purchased this vehicle with intent of a vehicle of operation that is reliable.

- Of course..no one buys a vehicle with the intent of it needing a new transmission.  But they also DON'T buy a used 4-year old vehicle AS-IS with the Check Engine Light on during the test drive and a history of issues.  Where unless you have something in writing that says they were responsible for fixing it after you took delivery you are basically SOL.

I was deceived and had no intent of buying a defective vehicle in need of repair. They informed me it was repaired but was not.

- Yes it was "repaired". By your own words the Check Engine Light was no longer on. If you have proof in writing that they were required to do anything more then take them to court and hope that the court doesn't hold you to your release of any future claims you apparently signed. Otherwise enjoy your new car.
