Well, I am sorry to see several others have been through same ordeal; I thought maybe it was just me.: )
I located the vehicle I purchased through Ebay. I contacted Alec through Ebay, and asked a question about shipping. He advised me that he could ship through one of HIS shippers less expensively. His feedback was good; I had searched the internet and at that time I did not locate any negative information. I even checked the BBB-no complaints. Long story short-vehicle had "clean carfax". Alec answered all my questions; "Yes, perfect condition, just as in photos". I made several mistakes. 1-I allowed him to steer me to send my funds outside of Ebay-lost that protection right there. 2. When my vehicle arrived-first thing I noticed was horrible cigarette odor; tar/grease stains on both interior doorframes-fabric I might add. I immediately called him, to which he stated "you never asked me about smoke odor". Then he changed it to "he can't possibly remember every detail about every car". Then he offered me $150 toward the repair; said it could easily be replaced for that. (I got 2 estimates-both were around $5000. Whole headliner, etc. wd have to be replaced). I told him I wanted him to buy it back, and I would pay to ship it back. No way; said he wasn't in the business of "buyng vehicles".
He then quit returning my calls. I advised him on an email that I had advised Ebay as well as filed a complaiant with the Attorney General. He called me immediately; basically threatened me and said that if I "hurt his business, he would hurt me". I stated all this in my complaint, which is on file with them.
He is a deceptive and dishonest man-do not trust him. I would encourage the others of you to also file with the Ohio Attorney General-Richard Cordray. They have an entire division for Consumer Protection (800-282-0515) who will investigate the claim. They have no authority to force any action, but they try to arbitrate the dispute and get the business to offer some type of compromise. Did not work in my case, but I have the satisfaction of knowing it is on file, and having to take the time to answer my complaint may have interuppted him scamming someone else . If they get multiple complaints on him, they may investigate him. There is definitely some intentional fraud going on there.
