Went back to the dealer yesterday and had a long talk with the manager who sold us the extended warranty. What I remember paying for and what I actually got are two different things. I paid $1,595 for a Premium warranty and got a BASE warranty that does not cover ABS systems. It only covers non-ABS systems. I have to admit that I was wrongfully misled into thinking I had something I did not. So knowing this have to take back my claim against First Extended and appoligize to them. They were right in their assesment of my problem and not covering the ABS system. For those of you who are looking at extended warranties, make sure you know what you are getting before you pay for it. We were not shown any paper work that itemized the warranty before we bought it. I broke my first rule in buying a vehicle. Never trust a car salesman or the manager of the dealership at their word. Always get everything in writing and do not sign anything you do not understand. Make them show you what exactly they are selling and ask as many questions as you can about it. It is their vehicle and supplementals their are pushing you to buy. You have every right to know every thing about their products they sell in complete detail. If anything good comes from my experience it that someone will have a better understanding of what to look for and ask about when they buy a new or used vehicle. Make them prove to you that what they tell you is actual fact. Never take their word for anything. I will be cancelling my warranty as I found that the price I paid is almost double of what I should have paid for this warranty. The same warranty can be purchased else where for $995 and will give the same exact coverage. Whereas the amount I paid will buy a warranty that will give the buyer a 6 year 100,000mile full coverage, and I do mean full coverage warranty. Good luck to all in your quest for information. This old addage fits here perfectly: "Look before you leap."
