Niko and FlyKly ran a Kickstarter for the FlyKly wheel. I was one of the first backers. They kept slipping on delivery date. I waited patiently not once bad-mouthing them knowing that they are a start-up and had poorly managed expectations but that is forgivable. Finally after more than 1 year past their originally promised date they sent me a notification my wheel had shipped from Slovenia. They sent me a tracking number. I tracked it and since it was in Slovenian, using Google translate, all I could make out was that the wheel was stuck in customs.
I noticed them after waiting for more than 1 month. They did some investigation and came back saying there was some issue with the shipment. After 3-4 months of back and forth there was no sign of resolution. I requested that they refund. They said that once they get insurance to pay them (which they claimed would take 5 months from date of shipment) they would be able to pay. Long story short no refund or wheel after more than 8 months. Since November no communication from them either.
They have in the interim successfully run another Kickstarter campaign for a new product and, if I recall correctly, lied there that they delivered on the FlyKly wheel. Kickstarter has been useless in this regards. I refuse to let go of my $550 just like that. I am OK if they tried and failed - risk of investment - but in this case they are failing to honor a product that they manufactured using money from me and other buyers.
