To whom it may Concern,

I believe I was overcharged on the value of the vehicle I just purchased. It has been less than thirty days since I drove off the lot. If you look at my info from my vin you will see I purchased a 2004 V6 Double cab prerunner 4x2. I was charged $26995 for it believing that was with everything included (taxes and all applicable fees, out the door) To be honest I did not check before I sat down with the dealer to get an actual idea of what the car was selling for. So I took it on good faith that I was being dealt with fairly.

Two hours after I purchased the truck I cam home and checked online for comparable prices thru KBB and saw that the truck I just purchased was listed at $21000...so to my dismay I returned to the dealer and voiced my concerns. They told me that I hadnt been taken advantage of and they said a manager had typed it in wrong...sure. So after them speaking with me I went home feeling a little better. They said I could not return it and that was that(what about satisfaction guarranteed). I recently read there is a three day return policy or something like that in Nevada..the point is they lied straight to my face and said I could not return the vehicle. The kicker is what lead me in there was a flyer that had come out that there was 4000 dollars off on all repos and the bank was there that day too. So the price of the vehicle from the price he ended up selling it to me for should have been 22000 plus my trade bring it down to 20500. With taxes on that and the premium service package it should have come to just about 25000 Total!

So I go to sign up at the toyota official website and what do I see when I search for certified preowned toyotas on this site within 25 miles of my zip... 3 of the same vehicles and one with 11000 miles (compared to mine with 18500) on it for just about $3000 less than the one I happen to be driving now. Oh and by coincindence it happens to be from the same dealership I purchased my vehicle from. So the next guy who unsusspectedly goes in there and is just told oh it was a type-o when he gets overcharged for it is just supposed to accept it..yeah right!

So as a result with the base price and added fees that I thought were included within the $26995 total, my final price is up to $30000. Do you think even after getting 1500 for my trade in, the truck I purchased minus the Platinum ($1395) service package is worth what I paid for it. I dont think so and I believe you would agree.

Another thing is that since I see another similar vehicle on the site rather than KBB listed for 24000 with all the same stuff except red and with 7000 less mile from the same dealer as the one I purchased from it justed happends to be a common mistake... sure.

So my point being that I was taken advantage of as a new car buyer well slightly new and I am very unhappy with how things have worked out. I believe that I was overcharded and as a result my taxable selling price though nominal is higher(500 more), the amount needed to be finaced from the bank is higher and therefore my payments are higher.

Had I gotten the truck for what I was told I would get it for with everything included you wouldn't be hearing from me.

I wanted to return it but they told me I cant..whats up with that (reminding you that I had gone back less than two hours after I drove off the lot and was told that I could not return it).

If I keep this vehicle over the next 6 years its going to cost me close to $45000. Now had I gotten the vehicle for what it was actually worth then I would be paying overall a lot less. So if there is anyone out there who can help me please contact me....in the meantime I will be calling lawyers to try and figure out what I can do.

Sincerly

Unhappy Toyota Owner

P.S. Its not that I am unhapy with the product its the way I was handled purchasing it (lied to my face and overcharged)

Whatever I asked I was told yes, anything to get me in the car. I feel I was taken advantage of and am unhappy with my first purchase of a new well slightly new vehicle

There is NO right of rescission of a vehicle sales contract in Nevada.

#2Consumer Comment

There is NO right of rescission of a vehicle sales contract in Nevada for the buyer. Some dealerships grant a period of time where a buyer can return the vehicle if they're unhappy with it within a short period of time, but there is no law requiring it. Everyone seems to believe that the 3 day right of rescission on a home re-finance or sale equates to the same requirement for a vehicle but it does not. Don't sign a contract if you don't want to be bound by it. If you get in a hurry, it's your fault. Don't ever assume that the numbers on a contract are correct - verify it yourself, e.g. as President Reagan said "Trust, but verify." Going to a dealership and expecting them to tell you that you can buy it cheaper somewhere else, or that they have a used car that sells for less than a new one is naive. Salesmen are not paid to sell lower priced vehicles when they can sell a higher priced vehicle. They didn't lie to you when they said you couldn't return it - if the contract didn't say you can, then you can't - it's that simple. I hate to sound so harsh, but consumers need to be educated about what they buy. If you don't know what you're buying, don't buy it. If you haven't looked into what the item is selling for elsewhere, don't cry about you not getting the best deal. I'm not a car dealer and have no association whatsoever with any dealers, I'm just tired of hearing buyers whine about something they purchase because they did not do their homework and are trying to avoid personal responsibility for their actions. Corporations that 'PREY UPON' and target innocent Americans! Do not believe for one moment that the Lawyers, Judges, and Arbitrators in this country are on the side of the honest American consumer. They are not!! These people are also CONSPIRING in an effort to FINANCIALLY INJURE innocent people, all in the pursuit of MONEY! We the people, must utilize the tools that are now available to EXPOSE this, and we must expose the FRAUD & DECEPTION that exists inside Corporate America. Don't forget, most of these companies are PUBLICLY HELD COMPANIES that are listed on the Stock Exchange! These are the TOOLS that we can use to finally overcome the CONSPIRACY TO COVER-UP the problems: 1) ripoffreport.com 2) Google 3) You Tube 4) Small Newspaper Ads 5) Large & Small Demonstrations 6) Our Right to FREE SPEECH, & the most powerful one of all 7) The TRUTH! We can create the Events that will capture the eyes of MILLIONS of people all over this country and all over the world. These 'events' will create OPINIONS, Negative OPINIONS. And these NEGATIVE OPINIONS will cause the collapse of the way business is done in America (for the most part). We can force change by simply 'harnessing the truth' and exposing it on the WORLD WIDE WEB! We don't even need the Media, but they will be there to cover these demonstrations and it will spread the word even faster! CEO's are being exposed all over this land of ours. Just this morning the CEO of Citigroup was exposed for losing BILLIONS of dollars for the company and an Emergency Meeting is being held on Sunday to possibly OUST him from his job. You can read all about it! The CEO of Merrill Lynch was just forced out this week for being responsible for the BILLIONS of dollars that were lost because of HIS judgement of how, and where the SHAREHOLDER'S money should be invested! Remember America, Americans have $4 TRILLION DOLLARS in their retirements. 90% of this money is invested in the STOCK MARKET. When the STOCK MARKET goes, so goes American's RETIREMENTS!!! When your RETIREMENT is GONE, there will be NOTHING that you can do!! CASH IN ALL YOUR STOCK & ANY RETIREMENT that you have NOW!!! Even Arnold Ziffel, the deceased pig from the T.V. show Green Acres, could have seen this coming! P.S. Please 'Google' the following: JUST WATCH WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL THOSE 401K's Now, go to the Rebuttal that says: SUGGESTION Look at the date, 7-16-2007 ( a week before the Dow Jones hit 14,000) Does eveyone remember what happened just after that? The Dow ADJUSTED!! Does anyone have any idea where the Dow Jones would be RIGHT NOW if the Federal Reserve HAD NOT pumped in the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS that the Banking System in America received???? Why hasn't the Media done a story on that?? Answer: IT WOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED! The Collapse HAS been triggered!! It's already happening, and most have become too alienated to even see it! Fact: 90% of $4TRILLION DOLLARS is $3.6TRILLION DOLLARS! Fact: If I know this, so do the Bankers, CEO's, the Federal Reserve, and a host of others. Theory: The Biggest RIPOFF in the history of the USA is in its infancy, and Americans will be the ones to suffer. Suggestion: Cash in your RETIREMENTS NOW! Do Not Take A Chance!! God Bless all of the Honest Americans and all of the Honest People all over the World who have been MANIPULATED by the 'so-called' Leaders since the beginning of time! Two of the Greatest People whoever walked this earth stood up for the honest ones, and look what the 'so-called' Leaders did, and 'had done', to them; one was shot and killed, the other was crucified! Dr. Martin Luther King & Jesus Christ! Quote: 'There is a much more powerful force than love called desire. Desire comes down to the pursuit of sex, money, power, security, and comfort. These are what people REALLY want.' - Deepak Chopra (pg. 114, 'The Path to Love') Quote: 'When you bow deeply to the universe, it bows back; when you call out the name of God, it echoes inside you.' - Morihei Ueshiba ( the Greatest Martial Artist whoever lived. EXPOSURE Is The Dealership's Worst Fear!

#5Consumer Comment

Paul, Have a Picket Sign made up that simply says this: Go To: ripoffreport.com and type in TOYOTA & read my story about Fletcher Jones Toyota! Take that Picket Sign and stand outside of the Dealership (on public property) and display it to everyone driving by! Do it on a Saturday at about Noon, when customers start to come into the Dealership. Most Radio Stations & News Stations are NOT going to do your story because of the MILLIONS of dollars that are being spent on ADVERTISING. You made one big mistake; You Believed these people at the Dealership! In America now, unfortunately, you cannot believe ANYONE any more!! Especially when it comes to money! Hit that Dealership where it hurts most, in their pocket! Exposure IS their WORST fear! Expose them and humiliate them if they do not make things right. And definitely send a copy of your ripoffreport to the PRESIDENT of Toyota, Mr. Katsuaki Watanabe. His address is: 19001 South Western Ave., Dept. WC11 Torrance, CA 90501 Mail your report to all News Stations that are in the Rebuttal of the RICHMOND TOYOTA story from a while back too. Good luck. These Dealers and Manufacturers are going to get exactly what they deserve, just watch! Also, Judges, Attorneys, Media Executives, Arbitrators, CEO's, COO's, Politicians, and a host of others are ALL Conspiring To Financially Injure Innocent Americans, and guess what? I CAN PROVE IT! AND I WILL!!

Being new to this site, I read through this report and comments posted and I am amazed at the quoting of non existing laws and suggestions of driving a vehicle at 40 mph into a business being that Law Enforcement won't even show up unless someone is injured? WOW!!! I realize that the report is from 2005 and that there is mention that your rules have changed, yet I hope that consumers that read through these comments are smart enough to learn from the good ideas and advice found in some of the comments and ignore all the remarks posted by obviously ill-informed pretending to know what they are talking about. The best advice I saw was to consult an attorney if you want to know what the law allows or doesn't allow. What you are speaking of is your station policy to keep from getting sued, NOT a law. I lived in Vegas for nearly 8 years, was active in politics in the transportation and labor fields, and co-hosted a late night radio show. I was an activist and have recieved all of the threats, and the quoting of "laws" that don't exist anywhere but in the minds of the big companies. I slammed several multi million dollar companies and individual business owners by name on the air on a regular basis. And I know for a fact if I was "breaking the law" in Clark County or the State of NV, I would certainly have been arrested. Although I did get death threats on a regular basis due to my show. Get your facts straight before posting garbage like that, and if you think I am wrong, POST the NRS reference here. I would really love to read this so called "law".

I am a radio talk show host in Las Vegas. I was the victim of an unethical dealership. I begged and pleaded with my program director to let me go after them on the air, but to no avail. However, it's not necessarily that he didn't want to. It's because it is against the law, and our station could have been sued. In radio there are various laws that are on the books which are designed to keep company and brands from being named specifically. If it is reported news, I have full recourse to mention anything by name. These laws don't just apply to attacking companies by name, but they also apply to giving that company free advertising. You are not allowed to mention companies, brands, or people by name whether you are supporting or attacking them. Unless, it is documented news in a publication, or news broadcast. Believe me, it's not that we don't want to go after some of these companies.

Marc there is only one AG's office that knows how to kick the dirty car dealers a*s. I said only one that I know about. All of the below is informative reading. I challenge anybody to find a attorney General that knows how to spank car dealers better then Eliot Spitzer of New York. Most AG's have no clue as to what to look for in deceptive ways of dirty car dealers. Go to these URL's below and read how New York's AG's office goes after car dealers that they feel are not playing fair! My hat is Off to Eliot Spitzer is a man that all consumers in New York should thank. He has the balls to spank car dealers that are reported to be playing deceptive car buying games. Paul Now I will take my turn and post some VERY HELPFUL info for you. Many car dealers have some fraudulent tricks they use to make or take more money. They also use their tricks and scam banks. Many banks hire employees that are too dumb to spot the car dealers scams. I would like you to read the following Rip Off Report and look at the second picture. Many car dealers like to alter car buyers credit applications behind the car buyers backs. But so many car buyers like or love their friendly car dealer, they say they would NEVER Rip them OFF. FAT pipe dream! look at the second picture in this Rip Off Report www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff52158.htm Look at the third picture in this Rip Off Report www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff140682.htm Now I ask you to contact your auto lender and ask for a copy of the credit application that they got FROM your DEALER. You might get a surprise in the mail. I hope you had a whiteness when you filled out your credit application. Next, send a copy of your Rip Off Report to Toyota Motor Corp. That would be cool! Soon many car makers will be crying the blues. The big three are now cry babying that their sales numbers are going in the toilet. I say about time. I hope to help flush it. Car dealers sales numbers need to be DEEP in the toilet for a long time. They need time to re-think their think as to how they should to treat their customers. By the way Paul. I want you to look at the first pic in this next Rip Off Report. Might give you a GREAT IDEA. Paul you have a good digital camera? You have a good print shop? hint hint! LOL www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff140682.htm Car buyers are NOT informed of car dealer scams because of the Media MUTTS at radio stations and TV stations. They had a cooling off period when I lived there for any installment sales contract on any major purchase, not just cars. Hell, it's insured, right? Accidentally park it on his desk...at about 40mph! And I do know for a act in NV, they cannot even write you a ticket for it on private property. They won't even show up unless someone is injured. I have first hand knowledge of this one, as I've used a similar stunt on Chapman Dodge when they played a fast one on me.

Where do you get the idea the car could be returned?

#20Consumer Comment

Wed, December 07, 2005

Contrary to popular belief, most states DO NOT have a "cooling off" period in which you can return the car. In fact I verified this for Nevada (where the OP is located) on the Nevada DMV website which states: "Nevada does not have a right of rescission or any "cooling off" period for the buyer" You're not allowed to post a link here, but I'm sure if you do a search on Nevada DMV cooling off period or the like, you'll find it. Anyways the time to do research on the car is BEFORE you sign the paperwork and buy it, not after!

#21Consumer Suggestion

Wed, December 07, 2005

You had recourse. By State law you can return a car within 3 Business days. However, they are going to fight and stall until your time runs out. You need to stand your ground! You also need to document your request in writing, and you ned to have a witness to your request. You need to be bold. Park the truck where it is blocking a drive or a door or something. Tell them they will take it back even if you have to park it on someones desk, etc. You have to get right up in thier face. Fletcher Jones is SCUM. I have dealt with them while I lived in Las Vegas 7 years. They have the worst reputation in town for ripping people off. However, they sensed weakness with you and exploited it. I hate to say it, but as in most cases like this, you ALLOWED them to rip you off. You really have no one to blame but yourself. As far as the "typo" on the price that is BS and you have the legal right to the advertised price. Check with where it was advertised and see if they sent in a request for correction. You need to file a complaint with the consumer affairs division of the Atty Gen office, and you can also file against the dealers bond. Go to the News to one of those consumer action investigators, etc.. Hammer them, DO NOT go away quietly. Stand at the edge of thier property and tell all prospective customers how they do business. There is a public sidewalk in front of Fletcher Jones Toyota, and they cannot stop you. Good luck!
